Donald Trump: Throw Thomas Massie out of Republican Party
Breitbart ^ | 27 Mar 2020 | CHARLIE SPIERING

President Donald Trump berated Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) on Friday, demanding the Republicans throw him out of the party for obstructing the massive coronavirus rescue package.

“WIN BACK HOUSE, but throw Massie out of Republican Party!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

…& costly. Workers & small businesses need money now in order to survive. Virus wasn’t their fault. It is “HELL” dealing with the Dems, had to give up some stupid things in order to get the “big picture” done. 90% GREAT! WIN BACK HOUSE, but throw Massie out of Republican Party!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 27, 2020

The president described the famous Republican libertarian as a “third rate Grandstander” who was obstructing the bill.

“He just wants the publicity. He can’t stop it, only delay, which is both dangerous and costly,” Trump wrote.

Massie is expected to force a roll call vote in Congress on the $2 trillion emergency funding bill, requiring members of Congress to rush back to Washington instead of passing the bill unanimously by a voice vote.

If Massie demands a quorum, 216 members of Congress are needed to return to Washington to pass the bill.

The Kentucky congressman shared an image of text from the Constitution on Thursday, suggesting that he would demand a quorum.

It appears that Massie believes that members of Congress should be required to record a vote on one of the biggest spending bills in the history of the country.

But Trump described him as a “disaster for America” for holding up the vote.

Why have Congressmen left DC ? Are they not staying at home ? Shelter in place and doing no unnecessary travel ?

Aren’t they saying Massie was responsible for removing the ballot harvesting nonsense the DEMs wanted to force into the stimulus bill? If so, I hope he gets credit for it and Trump acknowledges it.

Mark Levin was on fire tonight. If you didn’t hear him, try to catch it on his podcast app. Stands by Massie because all he asked for was a roll call vote but Nancy had sent them all home before a vote could be taken. Unconstitutional to not have every congressman on record for this ungodly bill.

Old news, moot. Sent before the vote. Massey was right but it’s crazy to fight unwinnable war. Make your point loud and live to find another day.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

So you think it was ok for Trump to say, “Throw Massie out of the party?”

Oh, no. They’re doing it in plain sight, but don’t care. This voice-vote crap just gives everyone weasel-cover to deny they attached their name to The Mother of all Porkulus.

He only wanted to honor the Constitution. Passing a 2 trillion plus bill without a full vote is unconscionable.

Nancy had no problem holding up the bill for a week in an attempt to add every liberal pork plan. Cut and pasted ready to go. Too many made it through in the end

I get that President Trump had no choice but to get out ahead of this nonsense for political expediency. But this massive spending bill should have had some accountability. President Trump throwing a hissy fit over this is beneath him. He is working to hard and should try to get a little more sleep.

Trump is so wrong on this. Also, why doesn’t he pardon Roger Stone et al.?

Agree. I agree with Trump as much as anyone on FR, but, he was wrong on this one.

The Constitution must remain paramount, or, the Dims win. He needs to publicly apologize to the Congressman for insisting on following the Constitution.

I’d have to look at the rest of what Massie has done.
But this was a stupid stupid act on behalf of Massie.

It didn’t make him look good. It didn’t make Republicans look good. It didn’t have any positives.

So I’m not upset with Trump’s call at all.

The guy wanted publicity. He got Presidential level of publicity.

If every American got $1200, that would be under 25% of the total bill cost.
I’m having a problem with this.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) did the right thing. Our representatives need to be held accountable for their actions. I wish he were my representative.
