Poll Shows Public Approves of Everyone’s Handling Of Coronavirus … Except The Media

A poll shows the American public gives everyone very high marks for their handling of the coronavirus … except for our fake news media.

A Gallup poll released Wednesday shows the American people approve — and by wide margins — of the way every institution is responding to the coronavirus … except for the news media, whose numbers are not only awful, but in far, far, far last place.

Here’s the breakdown of approve/disapprove:

•U.S. Hospitals: 88 percent vs. 10 percent.
•Your child’s school or daycare: 83 percent vs. 9 percent
•Your state government: 82 percent vs. 17 percent
•Your employer: 82 percent vs. 14 percent
•Government health agencies such as the CDC or NIH: 80 percent vs. 17 percent
•Vice President Mike Pence: 61 percent vs. 32 percent
•President Donald Trump: 60 percent vs. 38 percent
•Congress: 59 percent vs. 37 percent

And way, way, way, way down at the bottom sits…

•The news media: 44 percent vs. 55 percent

Will you just look at that…

Every single institution responding to the Chinese virus, even congress, is above water by more than 20 points. Trump is above water by 22 points. And the media are underwater by nine.

Every single institution responding to the Chinese virus is way above 50 percent in public approval, except for the news media, which sit at a paltry 44 percent.

The media are not only in last place, the media rank behind Congress by 15 — 15! — points.

This poll was taken between March 13 and 22 of 536 employed adults and 262 parents of children under the age of 18.

And this is not the first poll to show the public’s growing disgust with the media.

Anyone who believes in the leftist biased news media propagandists is beneath my contempt.

It is funny. The LAST thing anyone should due in the event of a national crisis, is access the media.

If I was a member of the media, I would think about that for a good while.

If they would have revised the question to “national news media” it well may have been down around zero.

Not surprising. Pence has been very steady compared to Trump.

Pence only is dealing with a specific issue, the virus itself. Trump is dealing with other issues as well. Trump has been as solid as a rock!

It's been interesting, huh? The two have such different styles of presenting their information to the nation.

Both are doing well.

But I am reminded of what LBJ said of the WaPo's Ben Bradlee : "When I say it, it comes out Bull Sh!t. But when he says it, it comes out Chanel Number Fiiiiiiiive!"

The media lies for political purposes. The media lies for ratings. Even my liberal friend and relatives don’t watch things like CNN and MSNBC. I don’t know who does.

A little bit unrelated, but earlier in the week, I happened by Frontline on my local PBS station and it’s topic was the NRA. And in the few minutes I watched this drivel, all it did was talk about that organization in a way that you could easily tell it was to simply make the audience at home angry. When for example it discussed the bloody rampage that took place at Columbine High School, my brain’s little fact checker (the perps bought their Tech 9 handgun from the son of a local gun control activist, the perps had originally planned their rampage at a later date but bumped it up earlier to the day the Colorado legislature was to debate and likely pass concealed handgun legislation because they feared someone with a legally permitted concealed gun could stop them, etc) basically stopped after a while knowing that stuff like that really was not going to matter to the average person who’d tune into that and take it seriously.

And it seems that the media this week had the same sort of purpose: simply make people angry with Trump and ignore that this disease came from a Third World country with a brutal dictatorship that many wealthy liberal business interests have treated as their goldmine all of these years.

Pence numbers dont come close to 100.

Neither do President Trump's. None of the numbers come close to 100. Wish the poll takers listed ALL the answers.

The reason for these poll numbers is that - apart from some Democratic members of Congress - the media is the only institution that seems to be hoping for the worst, nitpicking and second-guessing everything, actually opposing limited expressions of hope and progress, pretending to be experts, and not doing anything to help out in the crisis, but rather doing everything to carp at Trump and politicize everything.

The disparity of the numbers between the CDC and Trump/Pence (80% approval versus 60% approval) reflects media influence, and a confusion of how these things are supposed to work.

The CDC is the main federal bureaucracy established to prepare for these epidemics. It consists of career professionals who obviously have exponentially more medical knowledge than any president, and it is THEIR responsibility to be ready for these situations.

The president cannot be expected to be more prepared than agencies like the CDC, or to deploy assets that aren't available. He is trying to do catch-up work for agencies that weren't prepared. And who has been touting the expertise of the federal bureaucracies against Trump the past three years? The press.

Yes. I once asked a friend who grew up in eastern Europe during the bad old days how many people believed the communist propaganda.

He said no one believed it.
