Hoyer says House expects to pass Coronavirus bill on Friday

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) announced late Wednesday night that he expects the chamber will pass an economic relief bill in response to the coronavirus later in the week in a way that won’t require all members to travel back to Washington.

Hoyer wrote in a letter to colleagues that he expects the House will pass the legislation on Friday morning by voice vote.

Many lawmakers are fearful of having to travel back and forth between Washington and their communities, as well as congregate with each other in the Capitol.

But they are also under pressure to quickly act on the $2 trillion legislation that the Senate unanimously passed late Wednesday that provides individual checks to Americans, boosts unemployment insurance payments and provides financial assistance to businesses.

Hoyer said that the passage by voice vote would still allow members who want to show up to the House floor in person on Friday morning to express their positions on the legislation.

“In order to protect the safety of Members and staff and prevent further spread of COVID-19 through Members’ travel, the Republican Leader and I expect that the House vote on final passage will be done by voice vote," Hoyer wrote. "Members who want to come to the House Floor to debate this bill will be able to do so."

Hoyer said that he and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are figuring out a way for members unable to travel to still express their positions from afar.

“In addition, we are working to ensure that those who are unable to return to Washington may express their views on this legislation remotely. My office will send out information tomorrow with those details,” Hoyer said.

The House is getting huge snow shovels ready to load this bill up with tons of sh^t.

This will pass pretty much on a party line basis in the House. The opposing R's will be painted as heartless.

When the bill goes to “Conference” to resolve the differences between the Senate and House versions, much of the non virus related pork will have to stay or the bill will bog down and the R's will again look as heartless bastards.

I’m surprised they’re staying in Washington until Friday.

Why is it the House can figure out a way to vote without being in the Capitol building but the Senate couldn’t do a rules change to allow remote voting??

Successful therapy against Covid-19 virus from New York State:

Dr. Vladimir (Zev) Zelenko

Board Certified Family Practitioner

501 Rt 208, Monroe, NY 10950

845-238-0000

March 23, 2020

To all medical professionals around the world:

My name is Dr. Zev Zelenko and I practice medicine in Monroe, NY. For the last 16 years, I have cared for approximately 75% of the adult population of Kiryas Joel, which is a very close knit community of approximately 35,000 people in which the infection spread rapidly and unchecked prior to the imposition of social distancing.

As of today my team has tested approximately 200 people from this community for Covid-19, and 65% of the results have been positive. If extrapolated to the entire community, that means more than 20,000 people are infected at the present time. Of this group, I estimate that there are 1500 patients who are in the high-risk category (i.e. >60, immunocompromised, comorbidities, etc).

Given the urgency of the situation, I developed the following treatment protocol in the pre-hospital setting and have seen only positive results:

1. Any patient with shortness of breath regardless of age is treated.

2. Any patient in the high-risk category even with just mild symptoms is treated.

3. Young, healthy and low risk patients even with symptoms are not treated (unless their circumstances change and they fall into category 1 or 2).

My out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:

1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days

2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days

3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days

The rationale for my treatment plan is as follows. I combined the data available from China and South Korea with the recent study published from France (sites available on request). We know that hydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell. Regarding the use of azithromycin, I postulate it prevents secondary bacterial infections. These three drugs are well known and usually well tolerated, hence the risk to the patient is low.

Since last Thursday, my team has treated approximately 350 patients in Kiryas Joel and another 150 patients in other areas of New York with the above regimen.

Of this group and the information provided to me by affiliated medical teams, we have had ZERO deaths, ZERO hospitalizations, and ZERO intubations. In addition, I have not heard of any negative side effects other than approximately 10% of patients with temporary nausea and diarrhea.

In sum, my urgent recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting as soon as possible in accordance with the above. Based on my direct experience, it prevents acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), prevents the need for hospitalization and saves lives.

With much respect,

Dr. Zev Zelenko

It looks like they are going to do a voice vote on Friday. They will give anybody who wants to complain about certain provisions time to do that but the vote will be on the Senate version exactly as is. Republican minority leader McCarthy and Majority Leader Hoyer are working out the details for the procedures on Friday’s vote.

Pelosi wants to Screw with the Bill even more if she can. Why she wants to delay the aid to suffering Americans is beyond me. Soon Dems won't even be able to be Dog Catchers any more!

With Dems like these it is all about them and their priorities even if Americans Suffer. Why the Kennedy Center needs more money don't you know - And Illegal Aliens too!

Friday's vote is on the final bill and then it gets signed into law. It has a few goodies for Pelosi including unionization provisions, but no windmills or solar-powered airlines.

No, the bill is final as passed by the Senate. She got a few goodies and that's all she will get.

Friday as opposed to early Monday, 4 days of the ‘D’emons trying to use a good crisis to ram their wish list down our throats!

REMEMBER TO REMEMBER the 23rd of March when the Democrats sought to kill the NATION in revenge on that very bad Orange Man!

Too bad one of the members doesn’t demand a roll call vote, or require a quorum count. This vote should definitely be recorded.
