I may be a little old but unfortunately, I am healthy as a horse. Dammit.

Those wives.

I’m old too. AMI in 2018, DM2, two spine surgeries.

My wife won’t let me leave the compound here. LOL

But like you said. If it gets out of control, even more so, I gotta do something rather than nothing.

I told her this owning maybe if a call today and they tell me “no” they will forget about me totally after rejecting me today. But that leaves the State and i doubt they will let me sit out here forever.

My daughter is a 3rd year med student. Right now they’ve got the 3rd and 4th year students sheltering at home and are teaching them online. They’ve been told they are medical reserve and will be called into the hospital “front lines” if too many docs go down.

I think all the rules are out the window right now.

If they retired, they are old. Wouldn’t return to service pretty much kill them?

IRR is a retired vet. According to the census bureau without the latest increases The number of veterans with a service-connected disability rating in 2016 is 4 million. Of this number, 1.3 million had a rating of 70.0 percent or higher. And Military.co, 1.7 million retirees reported a service-connected disability in August 2018, and nearly half of those had a service-connected disability of 60 percent or more. So that cuts out large chunk off the top as these disabilities often mean lungs, heart, diabetes..just a list of pre-existing the virus attacks. Bad choices. So we don’t know how many in the medical career field available are among the healthy enough who are willing to volunteer and stay healthy with this. And with the increasing number of disabled even over 2 years, it may be worse today and not have much of a selection at all.

Another, and more ugly thought, is that medical field retirees in many cases have settled into a private practice that has full filled their needs. Too many in the career field used the military to change their specialty in a 6 to 8 years commissioning and have re-created their business. Even corpmen became stock brokers. I personally don’t know many that went into private practice or have generated jobs over the last 10 years that are willing to step forward. And the IRR will be working with the same gene pool. Plus the ones I do know are bailing out as the system is changing so retention is based upon back filling lost military slots with civilian counterparts. The VA has been doing for years in approximately the same way and is having all kinds of staffing problems now.

But here’s a thought: Since it is in question as to whether a flu like we have every year is so dangerous, maybe they don’t want to bother people while they are letting it pass like it does every year so they put out an appearance to the voters. Maybe they don’t expect the rush to come back as they really don’t need it any more than they already do. And that falls under suspicion that the whole thing is a political scam to try to hurt Trump’s re-election, bolster funds for liberal programs and needs, (like their own popularity which dumped during the impeachment), and paying off debts to friends they need for donoring for their own election? So they hold the voters hostage with BS to manipulate those that have been programmed to fold up like a lawn chair. And the GOP is stupid enough to walk right into it using the same tactics invented by the left.

Sorry about the length, but there’s a lot on the plate for this.
