President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday stuck with his contention that concern about the new coronavirus is overblown, and accused Brazilian media of trying to stoke nationwide hysteria.

Bolsonaro said in a nationally televised address that the media had seized on the death toll in Italy, which he said is suffering so severely because of its elderly population and colder climate.

“The virus arrived, we are confronting it, and it will pass shortly. Our lives have to continue, jobs should be maintained,” the president said.

Correct in the case of Brazil, since that country is still in the process of leaving the Southern Hemisphere summer. Note how few cases of the COVID-19 exist south of the Equator....

Someone posted really interesting maps side by side the other day of both the coronavirus spread and malaria hotspots and they were basically the inverse of each other.

Wish I could find it now.

What is more of the threat. The virus or the group that would do anything, including destroy our economy, in order to regain power?

I have felt from the very start that it was a mistake to shut down and hand everything over to the government and that the virus - which even at it’s most hysterically overinflated wouldn’t reach flu totals, and basically among most of the same populations -could have been managed as Trump originally suggested, with extreme hygiene measures, emergency development of treatment strategies and research on a vaccine, and production of the materials necessary to deal with it. Sequester the people at most risk (although putting them all together is not good, since many clusters of these deaths were group populations in nursing homes) and go on with life.

It is going to take us a long time to recover from this current strategy, and Brazil will probably be the new economic leader by the time we get back...well, I exaggerate, it’s still Brazil and has an active left.

They claimed that the cover failed in high heat and humidity conditions, seemingly prefers the more temperate areas.
IF you look at the maps of the equatorial areas you will see they are lower in covid stats.... and it could be there is truth to the high heat and humidity.

But then again, they all have underdeveloped and backwards countries and accordingly the ability and need to go to catch the virus is reduced. What we do see is, however, the Chinese invading these places under the auspices of “development” and with them piggybacks their virus.

He’s right. He’ll emerge out of this Nazi Soros-fueled panic as a hero.
