Democrats on Capitol Hill have now twice-rejected an economic stimulus packaged aimed at aiding Americans and businesses hurt by the coronavirus shutdown measures, as Republicans claim that their colleagues on the other side are attempting to cram a wish list of unrelated demands into the bill.
Adding fuel to the fire, news began circulating last week that House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) had reportedly told colleagues that the bill provided "a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision."
Clyburn's comments came during a conference call last Thursday featuring more than 200 Democrats, in which House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y) allegedly pushed for environmental measures and increased collective bargaining powers to be included in the stimulus package.

Representative James Clyburn is the quintessential crony politician, building on all the failed socialist policies that have never worked, anywhere, in the world, but for which he has a most curious and unquenchable fascination.
It is one thing to have run thought experiments when in one’s youth, but with advancing years, some degree of maturity has to set in, or the mind is forever adolescent and not ready for prime time. These dreams of equality of outcome are just that - dreams. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may continue to exercise these fantasies, but the real world just ignores them, and since the appeal to altruism is illusionary at best, in the ordinary course of things, these fantasies wither and collapse into the dust.
The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome the very next time.
How long will it be before some democrat snowflake demands that this be taken down?
