Stop the CoronaBailout from Raining Your Money on Corporate Lobbyists Instead Of Struggling Americans
The Federalist ^ | 3/22/20 | Matt Stoller

Congressional leaders are likely to put a very ugly deal in front of the American people, and if it passes, America may be unrecognizable after this pandemic. But there is a way to stop it, if people on the populist left and people on the populist right work together.

Here’s the situation. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and the Trump administration are negotiating a bailout package to address the coronavirus crisis. There’s been a lot of chatter about the need to support workers as the economy goes into a freeze....

But in the United States, our leaders seem to be falling prey to what can only be called a corporate frenzy of favor-seeking. “Any time there is a crisis and Washington is in the middle of it is an opportunity for guys like me,” said one lobbyist.

$4 trillion bill. Plus $1 trillion Fed “vehicle” and $700 QE = near $6 trillion allocated in one week. Congrats, Kung Flu Panic pumpers. You own it all.

Business tax freeze and expedited unemployment. No direct cash payments or other boondoggles.

I’ll cancel my class action lawsuit against the government for 1 million dollars - in gold.

Will they require that the money be spent on manufacturing in AMERICA and not on offshore manufacturing?

This is one question you won’t heard asked at the White House press briefings

With a new pool of $2 trillion to be issued in every which direction, I’d bet the DC politicians are anxious to get their cut. It’s called Hog Slopary. Joe Biden and his boy exposed how the DC looting game is played. Those who write and pass these spending bills always benefit personally to some degree from every pool of money they create. Now by the stroke of a pin, we’re going to be $25 Trillion in debt. I hope it helps.

President Trump can veto appropriations legislation if he feels it is wasteful or unnecessary.

I’ll try but my Senators are Camela Harris and Dieng Xi Feinstein. I think you people living in Republican districts are going to have to do the heavy lifting on this one.

Washington is no longer about lawmaking, it’s about moneymaking for the elites!

The Democrats have understood this for decades. Look how rich Bernie, Pelosi, Biden, the Clintoons, Kerry, Obama, and Feinstein became while in congress or the Executive Branch..

BUMP THAT, and this thread.

I would add that if anyone forwards this article as the author requests,
that they add these links to the top and bottom of the email:

FIND & CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVE:

FIND & CONTACT YOUR SENATORS:
https://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

and add Freeper rintintin’s and others’ good questions and comments to your email, i.e. DEMAND that the money be spent on manufacturing in AMERICA and not on offshore manufacturing!

He can and hopefully will put the brakes on, but at this point in time, saving money is not at the top of agenda. Blame for a bloated budget come November can now easily be deferred to congress.....”this had to be done...people were dieing”

They’ll all say that, but DjT is mostly hands off on this one, which scares me.

More important, let’s make sure the CoronaBailout doesn’t rain down on illegal aliens already leeching large off the American taxpayer.

Corporations spent their billions save when their taxes were cut from 35% to 21% on stock buy backs instead of reinvesting in real ventures, or paying down massive corporate debt.

Now, even President Trump sees that was a mistake.

You have to keep companies rolling and median to small businesses as well or people won't have jobs to return to or you can forget quick starting the economy when we're past this.
