How do I decline the checks? Probably can't. Maybe you could donate the check amount to a worthy charity that doesn't have bloated administrative costs, beyond what you might normally do.

It’s funny how this feels much more jarringly socialist than the thought that banks and big biz have been getting bailouts that make this look like funny money, for years. Either way, sets a very bad precedent, although I understand Trump is trying to buy political capital.

The checks are a terrible idea.
But, if you are sent one, don’t you dare decline it. Don’t burn it or tear it up. You will be paying for it later, just as we all will be paying, one way or another, because most people sent checks will happily accept theirs.
