SACRAMENTO, Calif. - It’s likely “few if any” California schools will reopen before summer break, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Tuesday as he provided a stark assessment of the implications from the spreading coronavirus that threatens to overwhelm the state’s hospitals and drain its spending reserves.

While urging Californians to stay united and promising “we will get back to the life that we have lived,” Newsom also acknowledged much is unknown and so the state is preparing for frightening worst-case scenarios. He put the California National Guard on alert for duties that include humanitarian missions like ensuring proper food distribution and public safety as some grocery stores resorted to rationing to control panic buying.

California has been a worst case scenario for at least a decade already.

For God’s SAKE!!

They’re talking like it’s mid WWII.

What a Complete and Utter disgrace so many in this country have become.

It’s an embarrassment.

they make it sound we’re burying our own in the backyard because there’s no one left to pick them up.

Drama queens.

Favorite part of Gov. Nuisances press conference yesterday was after he announced that he had "procured" 1.1 billion dollars from the California Legislature (wow! THAT must've required some extra-strength arm twising), he said some of it would be used to buy abandoned hotels and motels that could be converted to child care centers and to help pay the costs for those parents who could not afford extended time off of work.

An intrepid reporter asked him, "If people are going to send their kids to child care centers, why not just re-open the schools so the kids can get an education at the same time"?

Gov. Nuisance proceeded to go on about a 5 minute word salad bus trip that completely avoided stopping at her question.

Wonder how long before “turn in your guns for the safety of the community” comes along.

“we will get back to the life that we have lived,”

He wants to get back to the life he was living when he was in the middle of a recall effort?

Yeah, no, I don't think so.

That’s what the California National Guard will be used for. How many troops will say “hell with this”?

Agreed. I work in Downtown LA where the homeless situation is catastrophic. The homeless are everywhere. Most of them are downright insane and on medication but they are huge risk for infection (drug and alcohol abuse, prostitution, lacking adequate housing/shelter, poor hygiene, malnourished). But, hey, it’s California, so let’s ignore the real threats and focus on what makes us feel good. You know, like banning straws.

When you have thousands of homeless pooping in the street and rampant crime with no penalty, you are already “A worst case scenario.”

... or that other demographic group (favored by the Left) that engages in risky sex often leading to a condition with weakened immune systems ... I wonder if they’ll wrap it up in civil rights again (can’t stop them doing what they do) should they start dying?

Once this enters the bum population, if it hasn’t already, all bets are off. Welcome to Kalibabwe. We will probably see a very rapid thinning of this herd once the Xi’s ChiCom Wuhan Pneumonia Coronavirus aka Red Death/Mass People Killing Virus gets foot hold https://i.imgur.com/IvGDKqj.gif
