Thanks. I am from South Louisiana, so the "gumbo" meme was kind of natural. But S. Louisiana is probably THE place in the US which reflects the reality, as well. Multiple races, multiple languages, multiple cultures, yet we all get along reasonably well.
Latest addition to the mix are the expatriate Vietnamese who found their way to La. because of the Catholic and French influences. They are fitting right in, changing and being changed, but still part of the "gumbo".
