18 U.S. Code § 599 is pretty clear on this. "Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

IDK. Seems kind of like a dumb law. Politics is all about negotiations - it’s what they do...

I’m sure the FyouBI will be right on this with a 6am raid at Bidens and Butts homes tomorrow.

Sounds like a stupid law. One of those laws designed to feel able to be used against anyone for normal and reasonable activity.

Quid pro Joe offering something for something again?
You don’t say
To: SeekAndFind
Not that I expect that anything will come of this but President Trump should at least troll Biden about it.

Peter leaving a message at the wrong number was pretty funny though. If he’d mentioned “that job Joe offered me” it would have been a perfect message.

I would recommend that the FEC start a review to see if there is any “smoke” here. But wait till the top of June to persue in ernest. Anounce an investigation, go before a grand jury, supena email and phone records, etc.
Then go for the indictment just before the convention. Throw the whole brokered convention thing into an all out war within the DNC.
After the convention, fine the campaign for the violation

Joe can say in his defense “I didn’t really offer him anything. That was just me lying out my ass like I always do”.

A couple thoughts:
---Joe can credibly claim diminished capacity.
---This shows how late in the day it really is...politicians used to respect us enough to at least be discreet. When they lied, it wasn't so blatant.
Now, they don't even bother with that.
