Stephen Moore: Natural Gas Crushing Wind, Solar Power and the Left Isn't Happy

The U.S. Energy Information Administration just announced some spectacular news that should be banner headlines across the country: The price of natural gas has fallen to its lowest February level in 20 years. The data shows that natural gas prices fell to $1.77 per million British thermal units. In inflation-adjusted terms, the price of gas has plunged by some 80% since its high of $13.60 12 years ago. The price is down 90% since 2005, when prices hit nearly $20.

Not to worry Stephen. If the demodrones were to gain control that'll come to a screeching halt. Good thing they won't.

Banning fracking sounds like a great way to lose the election.
Keep it up, Democrats!

Yours truly has been touting the NG/LNG miracle in the Bakken, the Permian, and other fracking fields across the USA and Alberta for years and years, sharing observation in the field with FR.

And now it’s headline news.

The Bakken alone has more than 10 X PROVEN reserves than of all Saudi Arabia and each barrel brought up brings with it an enormous amount of NG that in years past was flared off ... Yeah wasted! But now is piped or liquified for transport.

So the USA is now King of all Natural Gas.

The Koreans, the Europeans will sap up every ounce of NG they can get their hands on as their lives depend on it.

So here’s what yours truly says will happen and has happened.

Brexit happened just as was predicted.

Why?

Because America is going to make Brits bloody effing rich just as Americans will be.

How?

America needs a preeminent broker for trade policy and port construction/operations to supply Europe.

Screw the Russians.

No one likes them. They are dishonest by culture and genetics. They play nice for a time then they start playing their games.

American business is trustworthy, reliable, predictable, reasonable, respectful, grounded in the same English Common Law and Maritime Law that the UK operates by. That makes GB the natural partner and that’s why the British people are excited.

For you youngins out there or even you middle agers with energy, drive, and ambition, get into the NG business! Get yourselves into the fracking fields! They’re hiring and the pay is excellent and your expenses are practically zero. This is a lifetime opportunity that will last decades and more. You will be able to make a career of it and earn a very comfortable retirement. You have this plum of an opportunity that your parents never had. Take advantage of it!

Basically, the government monetary aid to develop wind and solar energy companies were nothing more than pools of money for the democrats and RINOs to loot. No wonder they don’t like the truth that Steve Moore speaks because it hurts their chances to continue their looting.

So are you proposing that the Brits be the brokerage house to peddle our NG to the ‘yewwwwww’?

Not only shall the Democrats defy all reason by demanding an end to fracking, they shall double down on the propaganda that ANY fuel that produces carbon dioxide will accelerate “global warming” beyond the capacity of the earth to shed the excess heat generated.

Strange, but the “science” they invoke has absolutely no mechanism for this to possibly be true in any way, shape, form or manner.

There has to be a final, ineffable declaration that carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant in any concentration below 5%, which is the level at which physiological changes and distress for human beings becomes apparent. Now, 5% carbon dioxide translates into 50,000 parts per million, VASTLY far above the 400 parts per million that human beings are accustomed to inhaling.

Nobody is going to die of carbon dioxide poisoning unless they may have the misfortune of being trapped in a confined space where carbon dioxide is accumulated without chance of ventilation, as carbon dioxide is about 1.5 times the density of the normal mixture of atmospheric gases, and tends to settle in such low confined spaces.

When wind and solar become economically more feasible than gas they will be adopted. At this point they are not.

They don’t even consider the alternative to the “warming”. A LOT less survivable. Fidiots.

Any idea what the cost is to liquify and transport it? Vs. pipelining it, that is? Considering costs of infrastructure and equipment, it might be a wash.

We need to market the stuff. Too much supply not enough demand. Here in the Marcellus/Utica area one major player discontinued all operations. Others are doing the bare minimum to keep leases active. Many layoffs in the gas fields. Trucks an equipment sitting idle. It will come back but prices need to go over $2.20 minimum

Not even a question. They will be the principle broker as they have the infrastructure to get it going forward quick.

It’s a natural fit.

I have more than an idea. I have figures but the figures are getting better all the time as more pipeline is put into operation. Cushing, Oklahoma is the hub to get to.

The cost of American NG is far below the world price, the margins are huge.

The known costs to make LNG and export it over waterways is very well known, it’s not new. A unit of LNG expands more than 600 times into NG.

The ports that are making NG into LNG and loading onto special LNG ships are jammed with product. Expansion is ongoing and ramping up as fast as possible.

The Koreans offered my team years ago to pay for an LNG facility to be built in Long Beach. We were working with Clean Energy, a T. Boone company. They, the Koreans were ready to pay for the whole thing at breakneck speed, no expenses spared.

And we had worked so hard on it. It was to make me the richest member of my family in history.

The Obama Administration would not grant the export license. They delayed and delayed and delayed, finally saying it would have a negative impact on domestic pricing

My LNG opportunity passed but I have other opportunities outside LNG now which I am grateful to the Lord for.

But if I was younger I would definitely get into the oil patch and work my way up.

The ranchers that own the oil fields are still friendly, very family oriented, still very trusting but also very smart. A young ambitious aspirant should get in the car and make cold calls, knock on the door and ask to speak to the family head but be careful to get the wife’s approval because she’s the real decision-maker.

Lay it out honestly, you want to pump their NG into an LNG truck and haul it to a pipeline that will get it to Cushing, and you want a purchase contract signed with them, you want to represent them.

Be upfront, honest transparent, don’t be afraid to tell them you’re dirt poor and if you’ve got male body parts, don’t even think of looking at the daughter because the Mother will be looking at every move you make. Then get your contract signed and go out and find LNG haulers and sign contracts with them because now you represent the ranchers.

Now another bit of insight, Those pipelines now and to come? They have a 10% set aside for small operators. You go to the state office for pipeline affairs and fill out an application. When you’re approved, now you got direct pipeline capacity to load into.

For those that want a more defined role in the oil patch, there are man camps, and camps are set aside for women of course but generically they’re called Man Camps. Those man camps will serve you steak and lobster dinners for free, assign you lodging and a shower and all your pay stays in our own pocket. You work hard everyday, you listen and learn from your foreman. You are going to learn a lot.

After a few years you will be in such high demand you will be able to write your own ticket.

I would guarantee that if you get out there and work hard, not only will you earn a great living, you’re likely to get rich.

The wet gases that are removed from the natural gas such as propane, butane, ethane etc. are much more valuable than the dry gas (methane).

Utilities are going gangbusters building new gas fired power plants. The 200MW unit built over twenty years ago for Virginia Power took two 16” pipelines to feed it. The was a prototype and was the largest single unit available. They’ve grown since. To add to that demand we’re now exporting LNG.

You are obviously the person to ask.

Is LNG transported through underground Pipelines? I thought it had to be refrigerated.

What pressure is it at if it is being pumped through Pipelines?

LNG is not transported over pipelines.

NG is loaded into pipelines and transported to a port through a master hub in Oklahoma. Once at the port it is liquified into LNG and is put on LNG ships that keep it cold and under pressure.

When pipelines are far away, a special LNG truck will come to the farm/ranch and liquify the NG into LNG onsite. Then the LNG truck will take the LNG to a pipeline and load it into the pipeline as NG.
