Sanders now reveals how he'd pay for his new government programs; Trump calls for Sotomayor, Ginsburg recusal

Bernie Sanders reveals his new government programs to be funded by new taxes, massive lawsuits, military cuts Bernie Sanders unexpectedly released a fact-sheet Monday night explaining that he'd pay for his sweeping new government programs through new taxes and massive lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry, as well as by slashing spending on the military, among other methods.

The move sought to head off complaints from Republicans and some rival Democrats that his plans were economically unrealistic, especially after a head-turning CBS News interview in which the frustrated Vermont senator said he couldn't "rattle off to you every nickel and every dime" about his proposed expenditures.

He released his plan on his website just minutes after promising to do so during a CNN town hall. Sanders could be challenged on his plans and have to explain them before a live TV audience as he and six other Democratic presidential hopefuls square off Tuesday night in South Carolina for the 10th Democratic debate.

In the meantime, Trump says Sotomayor, Ginsburg should recuse themselves from cases dealing with his administration In a remarkable public rebuke, President Trump late Monday called on Supreme Court justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg to recuse themselves from any cases involving his administration over their past comments.

The president has proven in the past that he is not bashful about criticizing justices, but he seemed to be particularly bothered by a recent dissent by Sotomayor hinting that conservative-leaning justices have a bias towards his administration.

"That Sanders has so much support is frightening."

Considering just under half of US citizens pay zero taxes, not so surprising.

Coincidentally, this number roughly aligns with the amount of US democretins.

Wonder what Bernie would do if all the workers just stopped working..... No taxes....more (EVERYBODY’S) hands out for free stuff.... The fossil fuel companies just sold our oil to SOMEBODY ELSE.

I’d like to see that..... I really would.

Roberts to scold the President and insist that Sotomayor and Ginsberg are both apolitical in 3...2...1...

Dude, you just have to have the right name, not the right people to make it work.
Democratic Socialist is the current name.
When 100 million die and Democratic Socialism is kaput, a new name will be born.
Probably using a word that means “popular” or “populist”.

That’s my plan.
There are lines (some sharp, some blurry) beyond which I’ll just stop working. Cash out everything, sell whatever I can, move to an undesirable (for real estate market purposes) location, live off savings (cash if necessary) and homegrown food.
Drop out of taxable economy.

Take too much of what I earn, and I decide to not earn - at least not taxably.
Starve the beast, go Galt, bug out, #TaxOut, etc.

Lawsuits against fossil fuels companies are plainly intended to be debilitating, considering the intention to fund vast new gov’t programs.
I expect they intend to break the businesses, bring them to a “too big to fail” state, and nationalize the oil industry outright.
And we know how well a nationalized oil industry will serve the biggest economy in the world. To wit: it won’t.
And given the grounds for a successful lawsuit at that scale, there’s no way federalized leadership would do any better than what was replaced.

The real question isn’t “how long would that money last?”, it’s “how long would the national infrastructure function?” with an answer in the vicinity of “months”.

The voters who are under 35 have been given “Participation Trophies’ most of their lives.

Don’t actually DO ANYTHING-—or actually COMPETE—and don’t actually show ANY ABILITY to EVER do anything....But just LOOK at that shelf full of ‘Participation Trophies’.

Now, these same people are hearing FREE college-—FREE health care—Free something or another of every stripe.

They are clueless about who will pay for this massive transfer of wealth-—and they DON”T CARE.

All they want is for a complete continuation of their “Participation Trophies” to their graves.

Blame their parents-— who never looked beyond that Saturday when the ‘trophies’ were handed out.

None of them have been prepared for living an independent life.

Oh, it wouldn’t be “partial” anything; it’d be out-and-out nationalization, and if Sanders had an honest bone in his body he’d be saying so right up front.
