Austria has stopped all train services with Italy to prevent a further spread of the coronavirus, tabloid OE24.at said on its website on Sunday.

Austria’s interior ministry said earlier that Austria had denied entry to a train from Italy on suspicion that two travelers might be infected with the coronavirus.

Forget about it. Not sure the virus in Italy and Iran is really COVID 19,( may be another subtype of coronavirus) but it has already broken out. Leaky quarantines are useless. Best solution at this point is to go all out to develop a safe, effective vaccine and try to find if an existing anti viral medication or combination of anti viral medications is clinically effective against this virus

In Northern Italy everything is signed in Italian and German. At least it was in the early 2000’s when I was working as a DoD civilian in Germany...

Swiss that I know absolutely hated Trump in the past believing he is really Hitler, etc. Just the other day one said "restricting immigration is one good thing Trump has done". I fell over in shock. But it's true, they will vote for their version of Trump to stop this virus. They are terrified of the loose border with Italy with many migrant workers making trips across, including daily trips.

As has been pointed out, there are parts of northern Italy that were taken from Austria-Hungary at the end of WWI; England and France offered this land to Italy as an enticement to get the country to switch sides during the war.

If you ever get to the region and you don't speak Italian, you may find that your English is insufficient; German is the second language up there.
