If not a term limit, there should be an age limit. Not to be appointed before a certain age has been attained, to assure maturity has been attained, and not to continue beyond a certain age, so that an orderly retirement may be considered. It is OK to retire, RBG.

Terms should be by either renewal options, or a strict application of absolute periods of time with no renewals permitted. The options for renewal should be by a supermajority of at least 60% of the Senate, and the House getting no vote at all.

Yes, the Spew is the final word for me. LOL

It’s actually scary that show has remained on the air.

People have to be seriously challenged not to realize that show is a work of almost criminal level fiction daily.

Democrats. Always changing the rules in the middle of the game when the game isn’t going their way.

Democrats ALWAYS want to change the rules when they’re losing.

There was a clear reason for "life" term....so the judge would not be political....and need a job after his term was up.

Remember, there is no check on the USSC...They knew it when they wrote it but never figured out a way for a check to occur.......except for a new decision. In other words, precedence is NOT the end all.

And remember, BEFORE roe/wade, there was precedence...you don't kill babies in the womb.

Actually there is a check on the USSC. It is the fact that the number of justices ensures that there will be openings on the court, (usually at least one during a president’s term), so that “new blood” will be added to the court, with the need for the Senate to agree. This allows the Executive and the Legislative branches to control the direction of the court over a span of time, but not immediately due to staggering openings. (Which is the same way the senate was designed to be controlled by the states, until the 17th changed that responsibility from state legislative branch to the voters of the state).

Exactly! Cross-file under “be careful what you wish for” & “it all depends on who’s ox is gored.”

Apply the same limit to senators. If 8 years is the maximum for a president, 18 should be plenty for a senator, doncha think?

We have to get the Swamp Dwellers away from the DC Juries. That is clear. Trump’s second term means move every Executive Branch Job to other states. When SES from different branches want to meet it should require hundreds of airplanes and months of preparation.

The wise Latina is in poor health and may not make it past Trumps next term.

Very likely Trump gets to appoint 4 more Justices to the Supreme Court. If Justice Alito and Justice Thomas both decide they want to avoid a potential RBG situation and step down gracefully, it could be a total of 5 more Trump Supreme Court picks.

This explains impeachment and why the Left is freaking out

The Democrats have a very good shot taking the Senate in 2022

I may not like it that justices like Ginsberg stay on the court too long, but there isn't a good way to set up removing these justices that won't wind up being political in the extreme.

You're right on the money. They've taught us how extreme they can be at attaining and keeping power for themselves, and what they will do to get it.
