[Eric] Holder pushes for Supreme Court term limits, says '18 years is enough'
Fox News ^ | 02/19/2020 | Gregg Re

Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday openly called for 18-year term limits for Supreme Court justices, lending his support to a push that has gained steam among Democrats amid the Trump administration’s rapid-fire federal judicial appointments — and the possibility of a looming Supreme Court vacancy.

Holder, who once described himself as former President Barack Obama’s “wingman,” this week also took a shot at Attorney General Bill Barr, saying the current state of the Justice Department (DOJ) is a politicized “disaster.”

Speaking Saturday at Pomona College’s Bridges Auditorium, in Claremont, Calif., Holder said: “I don’t think someone should have that much power in an unelected position for that long. … I think that three senatorial terms, 18 years, would be enough for a justice.”

Currently, a Supreme Court justice is appointed for life. […]

Holder, last year, also embraced the idea of increasing the size of the Supreme Court through legislation and then appointing liberal justices to dilute the impact of conservative voices on the high court. Such a move, like implementing term limits for the Supreme Court, would not require a constitutional amendment because the Constitution affords Congress control over the structuring of the federal judiciary. …

Oddly, the SUpreme Court makeup wasn’t a problem when “Dick” Holder and Æthelblack the Unready were running the show...

He should be in prison for gun running. Let’s hope that after the October Trump landslide and massive rout of Democrats the coup plotters and Obama era criminals are brought to justice.

Now that there is a real possibility of a Conservative Supreme Court for decades. He wants term limits. Why wasn’t he pushing this forward when the Liberals had a chance to have a Liberal court? Of course everybody knows the answer...

Not so much term limits as much as fixed terms of 10 years at the end of which they must be re-confirmed or returned to the private sector.

Two hundred and how many years?

Eric Holder knows best?

Gosh Eric, if only you would have been a founding father.

I may not like it that justices like Ginsberg stay on the court too long,
but there isn't a good way to set up removing these justices that won't
wind up being political in the extreme.

The demoncRats have made that perfectly obvious.

They KNOW they are going to lose and Trump may have 2 more picks, along with everything else Trump is overturning they are freaking!! Obama has done SO MUCH damage weaponizing EVERY branch of government that is going to be the REALLY tough nut to break and I don’t have an answer with them being unionized!!! Obama knew EXACTLY what he was doing before he left office, Trump has done an enormous amount thus far BUT his second term will have to be extremely busy digging the tentacles from the swamp!! The only solution I can think of is transferring entire departments elsewhere in the country SP,IT the damn thing up!!! If people won’t want to transfer they can quit!!!!

Two picks is minimum.

RBG, Breyer, and Thomas are likely to all be replaced within the next three years. Alito might also be on the list (he’s 69 currently).

I value Eric Holder’s opinion on things as much as I value Colin Kaepernick’s opinions!

Now if only we could hear from Joy Behar!

Changing the Constitution requires 3/4 of the States to agree along with a majority of the house and Senate. Holder could’t get a simple majority on his side.
