Justice Dept. Is Investigating C.I.A. Resistance to Sharing Russia Secrets
New York Times ^

The prosecutor was assigned by the attorney general to scrutinize the agents and analysts who sought to understand Russia’s covert operation to help Donald J. Trump win the 2016 election.

WASHINGTON — Trump administration officials investigating the government’s response to Russia’s election interference in 2016 appear to be hunting for a basis to accuse Obama-era intelligence officials of hiding evidence or manipulating analysis about Moscow’s covert operation, according to people familiar with aspects of the inquiry.

Since his election, President Trump has attacked the intelligence agencies that concluded that Russia secretly tried to help him win, fostering a narrative that they sought to delegitimize his victory. He has long promoted the investigation by John H. Durham, the prosecutor examining their actions, as a potential pathway to proving that a deep-state cabal conspired against him.

Questions asked by Mr. Durham, who was assigned by Attorney General William P. Barr to scrutinize the early actions of law enforcement and intelligence officials struggling to understand the scope of Russia’s scheme, suggest that Mr. Durham may have come to view with suspicion several clashes between analysts at different intelligence agencies over who could see each other’s highly sensitive secrets, the people said.

Mr. Durham appears to be pursuing a theory that the C.I.A., under its former director John O. Brennan, had a preconceived notion about Russia or was trying to get to a particular result — and was nefariously trying to keep other agencies from seeing the full picture lest they interfere with that goal, the people said.

Only a rookie would hold to Durham’s theory. He is afraid of Brennan and the other intelligence chiefs.

Note that Durham was not directed to produce indictments. So you can bet he won’t.

“appear to be hunting for a basis to accuse Obama-era intelligence officials”

Getting ahead of the bad news; a NY Slimes outlet specialty.

This bullcrap assumption that Russia wanted to help Trump get elected is like the Global Warming religion. There is no evidence and if Russia wanted Trump, boy did they make the mistake of the century. Trump has marginalized Russia.

This is so damn stupid. The COUP-CONSPIRATORS INVENTED the 'Russian interference' narrative so that they could then accuse Trump of colluding with the Russians.

Trump didn't COLLUDE nor did the Russians interfere in our election (EXCEPT FOR HILLARY'S 'TRUMP DOSSIER' OF COURSE).. NOT A SINGLE VOTE WAS MANIPULATED BY RUSSIA, as a matter of fact.

The ENTIRE "Russia, Russia, Russia" narrative was and still is "Bullsh*t, Bullsh*t, BULLSH!T!"

So WHERE did the 'Russia' narrative originate? IN JOHN BRENNAN'S COMMIE HEAD, THAT'S WHERE. WHY ISN'T HE IN FEDERAL PRISON ALREADY?

Perhaps this entire thing was a Russian Operation and all the coup-conspirators RUSSIAN AGENTS. After all, if Russia is blamed for everything, Russia and Russian agents would LEAST likely be suspected of concocting such a plot. This is in and of itself is a CLASSIC Russian M.O.

There isn’t going to be any indictments of participants of the Kenyanesian Usurpation.

All of the crimes committed will be swept under the rug.

Sounds like a wild goose chase to me. We’ll get a “Durham Report” with some red meat for the Trump voters and that will be it.

I agree. Barr gave me ZERO confidence today but yet on the other hand he could've been GIVING the appearance that Trump shouldn't influence him while at the same time complying with his Tweeted recommendations which we shall soon see...

BUT..Where are the UNREDACTED FISA's, huh Trump?

OF ALL THINGS:

WHY ...THERE ARE SOME WHO BELIEVE THE CIA WAS AN AGENCY THAT WAS INVOLVED IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

BLOW ME DOWN.

Right out of the blue...this from the new York times...why it is shameful.

P.S. What fools they think we be.

The CIA believes that does not answer to the attorney general. He has every clearance needed, and they will not cooperate with him. Basically that’s a tacit admission but there is nobody who has the legal ability to bring charges against criminal acts by CIA personnel. They also claim that they do not answer to the president, and that he serves at the pleasure and must execute their policy. That makes us a banana republic, or a police state, or somewhere in between.

This is why our founders did not give us a secret police

No, even Hillary’s steel dossier originate with Russia. That came from British intelligence, and fusion GPS. There wasn’t a Russian involved in it

Just curious -- how many Slimes staffers shared the by-line? There's a spot when posting external articles on FR, to show the names of the author.

That’s what steele said. The only Russian involved was Skirpol Poisoned in England. He was a steel associate and probably was used to give the document a little Russian flavor. He wasn’t nerve gassed, The Brits used Fentanyl on him. It’s silence to lose sound, and bolstered there Russia theory yet again.

Everything produced in the dossier was homegrown by British intelligence. It was a very active five eyes effort to stop the Trump campaign. Likewise with a Songe. He got the material from Seth Rich who they murdered.

There is literally not a word of truth in anything to do with this entire Russia gate story
