With President Donald Trump threatening to make real inroads into the black vote, will Democrats dare to nominate a candidate who has made racially biased statements? It is one thing to say that minorities commit crime at relatively high rates compared to whites, but it is something quite different to falsely claim that minorities commit virtually all murders.
For a candidate who has already spent an astounding $350 million on his campaign -- more than all of his opponents combined -- it might be hard for his political opponents to get a word in edgewise. But, even as polls are showing that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has the second-highest support among black Democrats, his past racial bias could still get him in trouble. 24 percent of Democratic primary voters are black.

If you don’t think they commit most all the murders and violent crime, check the stats in the article as they pertain to NYC. Between black and hispanics, 75-85% and higher of all serious felonies are committed. I am not voting for Bloomberg ever but his comments were right on target. Hiding our heads in the PC sands only makes the situation worse.
If you have a bit of time check out the stats from NYC crime reports for up to last year, here they are, exactly what Bloomberg was saying, until he decided to run for President:
Youve got to get the guns out of the hands of the people that are getting killed. - Michael Bloomberg 2015 speech to the Aspen Institute
The ones I've seen quoted, I would describe as racially accurate statements.

Regardless of how one views the crime statistics,
regardless...
remarks by any D candidate associating blacks by race... with crime...
is gonna pretty much doom that candidate in the party, period
(and I don’t think that the D voters would have ever accepted Bloomberg and his gross arrogance, anyway, but that’s another issue)
This is what PC is. Hiding the truth and pretending. It’s dangerous.
I wonder why Lott cited statistics for the US as a whole when Bloomberg was probably only discussing NYC.
The best way to look at the crime rates is to imagine the crime rates without any black crime.
Then look at the statistics without any black or hispanic crime.
Then the stats will look a lot like pre-Islamic Sweden or Norway.
But—Bloomberg is not going to be honest and deliver the bad news in front of a bad audience.
He will do what all slimy politicians do—evade, lie, deny, evade, lie, deny.
(My small town has mostly folks of Norwegian ancestry—they won’t even run through a stop sign. ;-) )
I think the fact check here is probably correct but the kinds of murders that can be prevented with more police on the street are more in minority neighborhoods. I dont have the stats but I believe most white on white murders are people known to each other (family/significant others) vs random street crime.
“Between black and hispanics, 75-85% and higher of all serious felonies are committed.”
Democrat response: the laws are inherently racist and must be modified or removed, or reporting on crime is inherently racist and we must stop documenting the race of the offender.
So very close to that, they have removed cash bail which kept violent offenders in jail so now there is virtually no penalty for serious crime in NY until several years later when the trial comes along, if they bother to show up at all.
He was at the Aspen Institute to DEFEND “stop and frisk” policies, which are almost universally considered “racist” by the Democrat base. Of course, he will claim he has been reborn, sees the light, evolved, etc.
How is this any different from all the Democrats calling for immigration and border control prior to Trump? None of them were held to their words.
Heck yeah, he was right but you can’t say that. He even went so far as to say whites were stopped too often. The Clintons can get away with having said similiar to the race baiting base of the democrat party. Not even Bloomberg has enough cash to buy those remarks back. The only thing Bloomberg can do is try to deflect by saying Trump was hard on crime too, if he can get the nomination, that is.
All true - Lott doesn't make many mistakes. But as far as racial violence is concerned a person has to realize that black people are about 14% of the population and that most murderers of any race are men. That creates a situation where 7% of the population (black men) commit 31% of crimes.
Read the 31% wrong... cancel my last comment...
Faux News tries to rescue Bloomberg.
LOL! I live in "Alaska's Little Norway" where the most serious crime seems to be 'Improper storage of crab pots' judging from the local weekly's Police Beat column.
Without Biden, Bloomberg is the rats only hope for the African-American vote.
FNC reported that Trump tweeted that Bloomberg is a racist, then deleted the tweet because he’s on record supporting Bloomberg’s crime policies.
