washingtonexaminer ^ | 2/10/2020 | Paul Bedard

President Trump is making good on his promises to “drain the swamp” and cut Obama-era holdovers from his staffs, especially the critical and recently controversial National Security Council.

Officials confirmed that Trump and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama, who had fattened the staff to 200.

Since entering the White House, Trump has relied on staffs smaller than previous administrations and has noted how prior president’s had a much smaller NSC team.

The ‘insiders’ are like the Corona virus...........takes time to identify, locate areas affected and clear it out of the system.

This is referring to the National Security folks....he first had to get Commey out and locate all these others who are deeply embedded......to do that you have to have the right Dept. heads ‘willing’ to do the job. And if there’s a lot of corrupt people it’s wise to give them enough rope to drag all the others to the surface with them.

The Enemedia and the Rats would have treated each firing as an obstruction of justice scandal.

All I can say, about effin time.

In doing this, he may have a chance of surviving his last year and a second term.

These deep state operatives have been the scourge of his first three years.

Just think, only another 10K or so to go

True, but nobody could have expected the level of corruption from day one until even today

Cannot agree with that.

There were plenty of Freepers ringing the fire bell from day one.

Knowing if he did not get rid of the Obama holdovers, the corrupt bureaucrats in the alphabet orgs were going to try and bring him down.

AND they damn near succeeded.

garbage

While what you say may be true, so what?

The President had bigger fish to fry and proceeded to fry them.

I’ll trust him all the time over you

I seem to recall that official review has determined the predicate for the FISA warrants fail from the start as being shown now to be fabrications which the fbi did not verify but the court was not informed of the fabrication origins. The signers of the last and next to the last FISA apps were committing treason against a duly elected President.

I refer to the fat slob as:
Lieutenant Mister Colonel Vindman.

And who believes that the Ukraine was ever serious when they asked him to be their Defense Minister? They were making fun of him. And he never realized it.

The fact Vindman even revealed that showed how bad his judgment is.... Further it was obvious from the get go that he had serious man-ego issues that he was left out of the loop regarding Ukraine, running around trying to get clear answers nobody would give him. People in Vindman's chain of command were suspicious of him regarding his political point of view and being a leaker, and his own peers wanted him OUT!... he could not be trusted.

Escorted OUT of White House by security!...

Adios Creep!

it takes any president nearly his entire first term just to get his feet under him.

Yes, and Trump’s first priority was getting our military beefed up and the country on solid ground....which he did quickly. Also there was an exodus even before Obama left and those positions needed to be filled.

At any rate these past years have ‘revealed’ just how deep and dirty Washington is and who needs to go! Top to bottom of that cesspool!

I have to note that I’m a bit disappointed by some of the Monday morning quarterbacking on this thread.

Yes, we all would have loved a purge during the first couple months of DJT’s administration.

But we’re not party to all the classified information he has, nor do we have complete knowledge of the internal dynamics of the D.C. bureaucracies.

DJT is a man of his word. So am I, or at least I like to think so. The catch is that sometimes it takes a while for me to follow through on a promise.

In a spirit of fairness, I must extend to my president the same break I occasionally grant to myself.

Thank you. Good post!

Also there’s a difference between going in and just start firing without knowing the terraine and environment.....and that of learning the layout of the land, assessment, manage risk and prioritize plans ...especially when you know you’re going into enemy territory. This takes time and placing the right people who can do this.
