The U.S. Navy admiral responsible for the service's special operations forces will step down from his position, the Intercept first reported Monday evening.

According to the article he is retiring in September. Hardly resigning. If he really wants to prove his point he should quit today and give up the pension. The headline needs to be changed so it is accurate.
Has there been any readout on how rank-and-file SEALs feel about the Gallagher case and how they felt about this guy?
I know some of Gallagher’s unit didn’t like him, but I’m not sure if this is a case where most SEALs feel like a politician inserted himself into a military matter (in spite of POTUS’s absolute authority to do so) or if the guy who wanted to run a Kangaroo Court on Gallagher is unpopular with his men.
About time. Goodbye, and so long.
Cleaning house, whether you do it yourself, or let a robot whip around the house doing it, is a good thing.
Should have been court-martialed: insubordination, failure to follow a direct order. Reduced in rank to Ensign. Dishonorable discharge, pension revoked. That should have been what happened to this guy. Make an example out of him.
Audios, MoFo.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...
Now, fire that SJW USMA Superintendent for taking a stand against toxic masculinity.
BFD. Millions of people quit, resign or are fired every day.
Trump said, “Resign you insubordinate fool or I will fire you.”
The pompous perfumed prince of the periwinkles, realizing that if he was fired by Trump, his retirement would be computed at the rate of a Rear **** AH-OO-GAH *** Admiral (Upper Half) rather than as an Admiral, decided to retire.
What caused this?
*******
Remember the reports about parties including illegal drugs becoming rampant among the SEALs?
That was *all* under this guy’s watch. And the SEAL team leader that was court martialed and this “commander” refused to reinstate came about because the team was pissed off that the team leader wouldn’t let them do drug parties too.
He came to realize that he is just a peon.
He crossed the President and he lost. Good bye.
....”I think this is the guy to tried to countermand Trumps order to reinstate the Seal he pardoned”.....
Yep I thought so too.
Well it’s not just he’s POTUS.....He’s their ‘Supreme Commander’ ....The Constitution explicitly assigns the president command of the armed forces. To grant reprieves and pardons is included.
Its Gateway Pundit, they only traffic in fake headlines, fake stories and fake news. Jim hoft IS MR FAKE NEWS CLICKBAIT.
Yawn - if he doesn’t like his commanding officer (the President of the United States) he SHOULD RESIGN. I hope he takes other disgruntled ego maniacs with him...
Gallagher was cleared of murder when the state's witness for the prosecution who had transactional immunity confessed that he was the one who killed the mohammedan.
So they decided to go after him on "taking a picture with a corpus." He did do that so they thought it was an easy win.
Little problem, he was not the only one in the picture and they were not going after those guys. This is very much against the rules. You go after all or none.
Trump finally got tired of this persecution and pardoned Gallagher.
A pardon means the slate is wiped clean.
All titles and honors are restored. This guy did not want to do that. He wanted to kick Gallagher out of the SEALS and take his trident. It was a petty little response from a petty little man.
So, since every military officer serves at the pleasure of the president he was told to resign.
See my #38. Clearly, great minds think alike.
Ok. The good thing about the Navy is they have succession plans.
The sun will rise in the morning.
