MADRID (REUTERS) - Spain's National Centre for Microbiology has confirmed the country's first case of coronavirus after a man was diagnosed with the virus on the remote island of La Gomera in the Canaries, the Health Ministry said late on Friday (Jan 31).
The patient is part of a group of five people taken into observation on the island and isolated after it was found they had come into contact with a German man diagnosed with the virus.

Now we need to shut down international travel.
But, government always does the right thing in these situations, about a week too late. Because they’re afraid of causing a recession. Only imagine the recession if this gets out of control.
History note: the reason the 1917-18 flu was called Spanish is because Spain was not fighting, had no war-time censorship and was reporting the spread of the disease in Spain openly.

This is text book airborne vector spread and he was asymptomatic the whole time likely the original Chinese woman only “got sick” on the plane ride home she infected the Germans with no symptoms.
