I thought they said there wasn’t a danger? will this affect the Gulf coast severely or will Cuba blunt its force?

3.5 foot waves should be manageable.

And here I thought it was all the pollution making the water heavier which then cracked the Earth’s crust, thervy causing an earthquake which brought about the tsunami. LOL

So was it a 7.3 or 7.7 earthquake?

Either way, yes, prayers for all the inhabitants of the islands affected.

Unless the wavelength is REALLY long. (possible huge volume of water, unlike a normal shoreline wave 3.5’ high)

I hope it’s not like the tsunami in Deep Impact

Strength of tsunami depends on depth of the quake doesn’t it?

I would think it would not exceed 100 feet.

The one in Deep Impact was a half-mile high.

The 3.5’ waves comes in at 20-25 MPH with trillions of tons of water and force behind it. Look at the Tsunami in Japan a few years ago, some waves were even smaller but kept pushing with monumental force.

I’d hide in the basement!!

:)

If I saw a half mile high tsunami coming my way I would just faint and not even feel myself getting crushed.
