"could be a few months as executive immunity and privilege are litigated."

This could be a BIG issue. If our turncoat RINOs vote for witnesses, I think they're gonna try to do it all in the senate with the senators brushing aside executive immunity and privilege by a 51 vote majority. And this, of course, would give the legislative branch an unconstitutional level of power over the executive. Schumer's now pushing the notion that the Chief Justice can make this ruling on his own. No thanks. Pray that the president's legal team CAN get this to the full SCOTUS, otherwise we are at an extreme constitutional crisis.

I left FoxNews a few years ago, and only watch Fox Business if I’m watching any news on TV.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've left Fox other than Hannity, Laura Ingram, and possibly Shannon Bream. Watters World is okay. NO watching of Tucker or anyone else there. We have OAN on all day now........good solid news casts so far. $4.99 a month and worth every dime!!
Yeah, but that is nutty. As presiding over this trial, he is not part of the Article III courts. He is simply keeping order in a senate trial. He is effectively a member of the senate.
Schumer says all sorts of nutty things.
I would expect team trump to file a lawsuit in the federtal district court of DC, and appeal from there. SCOTUS does not have original jurisdiction over this case, see constitution (and what was the fatyal defec in marbury v. Madison, SCOTUS original jurisdiction)
Not that I have any affinity for CJ Roberts, but he is not brave enough to take on what Schumer suggests, and he has an easy out, i.e., the identity I noted above. In this trial, CJ Roberts is part of the senate conducting impeachment, he is not part of an Article III court.
Sickening, isn’t it? Many believe what they practice and preach.
Wonder if delay in presenting impeachment articles to the Senate purposefully provided Bolton extra time (and instruction) to wrap up the draft of his “tome”? Timing of these bombshells is consistently curious.
Am I missing media reviews of yesterday’s impeachment trial?
____________________________________________________________
The media reviews yesterday were... Bolton, Bolton, Bolton, Orange man bad, Bolton.
The lawyers are too polite to say it, but this impeachment folly is a Democrat-run administrative assassination attempt on President Trump.
What kind of court lets jury members go out and give press conferences?
Shows you what an oath means to these clowns. They did the same thing during the Clinton farce. Most here don't remember how Trent lot assured he would walk. That Moron Linda should remember how he limited his presentation, but I guess he doesn't.
The media reviews are basically that Team Trump did okay, but did not dispute any of the core allegations in the articles. Also, the Trump team argument proves that witnesses are needed.
There is no way that anyone watching that, especially Republicans, can possibly think the Dems have any case all. It was exposed as a naked political attack.
Any ruling by the chair can be overturned by a majority vote.
Again, if Bolton was so important to the Democrat case, why didn’t the House subpoena him?
Its a question to which they have no good, persuasive answer. Its not the job of the Senate to redo their case for them.
Which is bottom line - when all is said and done, they have no case.
True that. It's basically "the Senate" sitting as a trial court. The senators are jury, judges, and advocates for one side or the other. They will do what is politically expedient, every time. Good thing conviction requires 2/3rds.
The Senate voted against an amendment that would require the Chief Justice of the United States to rule on motions to subpoena witnesses and documents.
S.Amdt.1294 to S.Res.483
Has there been any mention of Bolton perhaps having audio of his discussions with Trump? Trump might actually may have them. Nixon had them and they got them. Just musing...
Not only that but the WH has said that, if the Senate votes to subpoena witnesses, they will block them from testifying.
And the Senate will be paralyzed, unable to conduct business for months or years.
Let’s see what happens when GOP senators vote to appear “fair” to political opponents who hate them.
Bring it on!!!
No. If there was, the Democrat media would be sure to tell us.
All this pressure on Senate Republicans isn’t coming from the American people. Its coming from Democrats and their captive media.
Republicans need to prostrate themselves in front of them, why exactly?
