I do know China is trying to blame it on the market. I do know that scientists have said this has the bat signs when looking under microscope.. I do know US developed a virus just like this one combining china bat with sars in Chapel Hill

Your thousands of corona viruses not especially relevant.

I am stating facts. And my opinion is that it is a bioweapob released by accident . you can believe it is some random virus that has nothing to do with bats if you wish.

Meanwhile. It is a fact that china is responding in an unprecedented way.

“I do know China is trying to blame it on the market.”

This virus is the only thing they haven’t blamed on Global Warming.

Do surgical masks really work?

Officials address CDC confirmation of first case of coronavirus in Chicago area.

Amid the deadly outbreak of coronavirus in China that’s killed at least 26 people and sickened hundreds of others, officials in the country are encouraging the public to wear surgical masks to prevent the spread of disease. Demands for the masks have skyrocketed, with many retailers unable to keep up.

But the question remains: Do surgical masks really work?

CHINA CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK SENDS COUNTRY SCRAMBLING TO BUILD HOSPITAL

“Surgical masks will not prevent your acquiring diseases,” said Dr. William Schaffner, a professor of preventive medicine and infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University, and the medical director of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, to Fox News.

Rather, he explained, surgical masks are typically used by surgeons to protect their patients from their mouth-borne germs — but “those masks don’t work to prevent inhaling diseases,” said Schaffner.

The masks, which cover the nose and mouth, are often made from a flimsy material and aren’t fitted to the face. In other words, spaces and gaps can form around the cheeks and edges of the mouth, making it easy for air to move in and out.

US AIRPORTS DISPLAYING CDC WARNING POSTERS AMID CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

“When coughing, you can feel the puffs of air coming out of the mask,” he said.

That said, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently recommending anyone infected with the novel coronavirus or being tested for it to wear a surgical mask when in public. And one infectious disease physician told The New York Times the masks could block “large respiratory droplets” from entering your body when an infected person sneezes or coughs. These large droplets are largely behind the spread of coronaviruses, the physician said.

A more protective mask, known as an N-95 respirator, may be more effective, said Schaffner. But, he noted, a non-medical professional using this mask is likely not using it correctly, doing little to prevent the spread of illness or inhaling a disease.

“The chance of the average person going into a pharmacy, wearing them correctly and for long periods of time is unlikely,” he said.

Before people begin to panic about the Chinky virus, remember that the media over hypes and gets everything wrong, especially regarding science.

I talked about this exact thing. I use these 95 masks when mowing and when spraying chemicals. Hard to keep it in place for me when moving around. My glasses fog up sometimes. Etc.

Some protection better than none.

Supposedly Soldiers from Ft. Riley Kansas had the 1918 flu and took it with them to fight in the WW1. If you know something that shows transmission from China to Ft. Riley please post the link! (Chinese laborers? Soldiers returning from the Phillipeans?)

https://www.kshs.org/kansapedia/flu-epidemic-of-1918/17805

"In 1918 the United States was involved in World War I, but was also dealing with the outbreak of a deadly influenza epidemic. The first cases of the outbreak were recorded in Haskell County, Kansas, and Fort Riley, Kansas, where young men were being hospitalized for severe flu-like symptoms. A local doctor sent a report to the Public Health Service, but no one was sent to investigate the situation. On March 4, 1918, an outbreak appeared at Fort Riley, with as many as 500 soldiers hospitalized within a week. Within a month, however, the number of patients dwindled and it seemed that the flu had passed its course. Many of these soldiers were sent to Europe to help fight in World War I. While in Europe the disease mutated and became deadly. By May many reports of soldiers falling ill were reaching the U.S. It did not take long for the disease to spread from the soldiers to the civilian population of Europe, and then around the world. Few areas remained unaffected, and there were recorded outbreaks in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America, as well as the Arctic and remote Pacific Islands. ...

A third and final wave of the epidemic hit in the spring of 1919, and many reported that it was so severe that people could wake up healthy and be dead by nightfall. By the end of spring the number of patients had dropped enough that officials lifted bans from their cities and states and people could resume school and church. Since the disease occurred at the same time as World War I, the epidemic was overshadowed. Although the epidemic only lasted a year, it left a large mark, both in America and worldwide."

The purported estimate of 90,000 dead in Wuhan isn’t coming from the media:

Still haven’t seen if the dead were compromised by age, other health issues, time lag to get help...

"So, your premise is the US government (or any one of the thousands of other hackish conspiracy theories) built a virus and released it in China" It has been suggested that this escaped from China's Biolab. (Located within 20 miles of the "Fish market">

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/did-china-steal-coronavirus-canada-and-weaponize-it
-------------------------------------------------------

BECAUSE Zero Hedge posting story from Indian twitter source additional confirmation was neccessary. I located this article from July of 2019):

https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2019/07/mystery-surrounds-ouster-chinese-researchers-canadian-laboratory

On 5 July, officials at the National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) in Winnipeg, Canada, escorted Xiangguo Qiu, biologist Keding Cheng, and an unknown number of her students from the lab and revoked their access rights, according to Canadian media reports. The Public Health Agency of Canada, which operates the lab, confirmed it had referred an “administrative matter” matter to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, but said it would not provide additional details because of privacy concerns.

A number of observers have speculated that case involves concerns about the improper transfer of intellectual property to China. (All of the researchers involved are believed to be Asian.) But Frank Plummer, a former scientific director of NML who left in 2015, says the lab isn’t an obvious target for academic or industrial espionage. “There is nothing highly secret there, and all the work gets published in the open literature,” he says. “I don’t know what anyone would hope to gain by spying.”

This does NOT address all points of the ZH article, OR prove that this is an accidental release of a bio weapon, but DOES support the assertion that the Chinese stole biological material and research (along with any other intellectual property they can lay their hands on.) As far as the Former lab director stating that there was nothing secret or significant, well, people can make up their own minds.

We can only speculate if this is accidental, one of those "may the arrow they intended for others pierce their own liver!" sort of things. Perhap the Canadian lab could determine if this originated in their facuility based on samples from the U.S. or Canadian Coronavirus cases.

"National Health Commission says understanding of infection remains limited, but its ability to spread is getting stronger. More than 1,300 extra doctors and nurses have been deployed to Hubei to help battle outbreak, with 1,000 more to follow soon"

Off to do things. may not be back on until this evening.

My Chinese language skills are non-native and rusty since I acquired them Berlitz-style via expensive classes decades ago. But the phrase she used was 九万多人死 - jiu wan duo ren si - (courtesy of Google translate) or 90,000 dead. Maybe she misspoke. Maybe she thought that's what the numbers were, but she was wrong. But 90,000 dead was what she said in the video.

“The purported estimate of 90,000 dead in Wuhan isn’t coming from the media:”

The caption on the video of the woman in protective gear stated 90,000 infected, not dead. There is no information as to her credibility and some question about whether she said infected or dead. The estimate of 90,000 dead is questionable at best.

"人次" not "人死", plus it's entire probably she said "几万” and not "九万". In which case what she said was "cases in the tens of thousands", and not "ninety thousand deaths". I think the former is much more in line with the tone of her entire statement.
