While kings and presidents came to get their pictures taken, Texas governor offered genuine support
We all know that one simply doesnt mess with Texas.
Texas is now warning that anyone who messes with the Jewish state will likewise earn the ire of the Lone Star State.
Practical support beats photo-ops
While the visiting kings and presidents of the Western world were busy trying to be seen ahead of this weeks Holocaust commemoration event, Texas Governor Greg Abbott quietly visited a week earlier to show his support for Israel in a much more practical way.
The primary reason for Abbotts visit was to scout for new Israeli technology for Texas to either invest in or purchase.
The trip was facilitated by Start-Up Nation Central, a local non-profit that exists to connect Israeli innovations with the people and regions that need them most.
Texas is already one of Israels biggest trade partners, and vice versa, and Abbott vowed that would continue.
There is a connection between business in Israel and Texas that make both Israel and Texas far better, he told the gathering in Tel Aviv.
Mess with Israel, you mess with Texas

Governor Greg Abbott and his family are a huge blessing to the State of Texas.
And Texas and Israel have a strong bond.
God Bless Texas, God Bless Israel

Agree, Abbott is GREAT and he’s likeable enough that he doesn’t have trouble staying in office (i.e., winning elections)!

The previous Governors of Texas, Perry and Bush, imported large numbers of people who are enemies of Israel who now live in Texas.

I grew up 14 miles from Governor Perry. Knew his father, know his mother and have never met Rick. His family moved to this county about 3 years prior to my ancestors. We came in 1889.
Governor Perry was a good governor. He made some bad calls, but he was a solid friend of Israel.

Likeable? Yes. But he is a great governor and in spite of his handicap, he has the guts to make tough reasoned decisions.
He is the best governor in my lifetime.

Yes. One of my ancestors was born in Texas during the Republic.
The first foreign branch of Texas A&M University was in Israel, under the administration of Governor Rick Perry.

For a moment I thought I read,
“Texas is like a whole mother country.”
Guess what, I agree with that, too. God bless Texas!
