Whenever liberals in the media approvingly cite conservative leaders, like Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater, it’s to somehow contrast them as suddenly reasonable and sensible. Unlike the modern Republican Party.
So it’ not a shock that Politico is looking to Goldwater as a model for how the Senate GOP should respond to Donald Trump: In other words, tell him to resign. This is what the Arizona senator did with Richard Nixon in 1974. That way it would spare going through a Senate impeachment trial in which the all Democrat team of House managers would have to present their incredibly weak case.

So President Trump, who knows he is innocent, is going to feel so remorseful and repentant over his non-crimes that he will hang his head down and resign?

On April 1, Pres. Trump should call a news conference to announce that, because of all the pressure on him, he’s announcing that he’s resigning the Presidency ... then pause and say, “Naw, just kidding, I’m here for another 5 years! Got ya, April Fools!!”

More likely, President Trump would kick them out of his office and then go on Twitter and tell everyone how chicken these Republicans are to come to him instead of defending him.

I think a lot of the shock of 2016 was that Trump winning wasn’t even on their radar. It could be that 2020 will see a Trump reelection as a done deal come election night but who knows for sure. Nevertheless if that happens the shock the next morning would be less IMHO.
A few facts before “Politico” goes into heat over Trump impeachment. Breitbart News is stating that really no one is watching the farce blabber from “Pencil” Neck Democrat Adam Schiff and his Democrat, Busom “FAT PIG...OINK, OINK, FOOD Stuffer, Jerrold Nadler” on TV. But...not only the American people are saying “Ho-Hum, to the Democrat Scum” one must add the overwhelming majority of the Senators of both political that are prisoners in their own house...the Senate chamber!!!

taking care of the business od the American people.

Note: Seven to eight Democrat Senators will not retain their seats in November. It’s the Democrats who have the re-election problem....the House Democrats will lose at least thirty sears..period!!!
