Top Democrat warns FBI against giving GOP records from ex-DNC consultant (Chalupa)

A top Democratic senator discouraged the Justice Department and FBI from complying with a Republican demand for information about a former Democratic National Committee contractor.

Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden warned that complying with the records request related to Alexandra Chalupa, who is alleged to have sought dirt from Ukraine to undermine then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 election, would have dangerous consequences. As Chalupa conducted research on Paul Manafort, who did lobbying work for a pro-Russia Ukrainian oligarchs and later became Trump's campaign manager, the Ukrainian American activist began receiving notifications from Yahoo security that claimed she was the victim of a "state-sponsored" cyberattack.

“The Senators’ request will have a chilling effect on the victims of nation state cyberattacks, and would discourage them from seeking law enforcement assistance, thereby jeopardizing our national security, limiting our ability to respond to sophisticated cyberattacks, and undermining the civil liberties of American citizens,” Wyden wrote in a letter to Attorney General William Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray on Thursday.

Chalupa said she developed a network of sources in Washington and Kyiv, and met with Ukrainian Embassy officials during the 2016 campaign about her research focused on the nexus between Manafort, Trump, and Russia, according to a 2017 Politico article. Chalupa has denied being an opposition researcher for the DNC, telling CNN in 2017 that "the DNC never asked me to go to the Ukrainian Embassy to collect information." Manafort, who is now serving a seven-year prison sentence for after federal convictions on bank and tax fraud, resigned as Trump's campaign chairman in August 2016, as reports emerged about his work on behalf of pro-Russia Ukrainian officials.

Beginning in the spring on 2016, a Yahoo report said Chalupa suspected that she had potentially been the victim of a “state sponsored" cyberattack, ..

“Corruption does not bother libs”

That is what i do not understand about this impeachment of Trump asking the Ukrainians to look into the Biden mess, they are saying if you know of corruption or people breaking the law, keep your mouth shut and let it happen.

I think I read somewhere that it’s only breaking the law when Republicans do it. I believe that’s what we’re overlooking, and why it is so frustrating. When you finally figure it out it all makes so much sense.

Smile, and have a nice day.

Chalupa is the same individual that the whistleblower has attend meeting with him at the White House so she could dig up dirt.He was allied with her to bring Trump down after he was elected

IOW, it would expose the fraud of the Russian Collusion hoax.

Although there are a few still trying to resurrect Russia Russia Russia, that hoax is pretty much dead and burried.

Chalupa's FBI files would confirm yet another justification for Trump's requests during his phone call with Zelensky. They would show that the DNC was colluding with a foreign government to undermine the 2016 election. They MIGHT also show that the FBI KNEW, and took no action.

I agree with that generalization, assuming you are talking about Democrat politicians, not Democrat voters.

Many, many life long Democrat voters are just as disgusted as we are, and they are crossing over to our side in droves!

But they still call themselves Democrats. I guess they are harking back to a time when their party platform was not built around lies.

“ Do they have something to hide?”

Rhetorical question, right?

Subpoena Crowdstrike and start from the beginning. Once they have all of those records, then they have all the DNC computer files. Why Crowdstrike? Because they were mentioned in the transcripts of the telephone conversation. They are pertinent to this case.

***IOW, Wyden is threatening the FBI***

Absolutely! Same thing Pelosi has been saying: see things our way or pay the price. We saw it with HRC's emails, in the Kavanaugh hearings, with Jussie Smollett and the House impeachment hearings - the Dems are not above the law, they are the law! No need for that ancient dust covered document, the Constitution.

This is why the records related to Chalupa are a horror to the deep dems— it reveals everything this broad was doing for the clintons, and especially the DNC***

She was paid $70,000 by the DNC (that we know of). Her frequent visits to the Obammy WH and the Ukrainian Embassy are well documented! I am guessing that she was not paid to fetch coffee or pizza.

You may recall the on video threats made by Debbie “Wash My Hair Please” Shultz to the Commander of the Capitol Police force— threatening his job and other “major consequences” if he did not return HER freaking laptop, seized from the Awan Brothers Pakistani spy network that was managing the DNC IT department and for demonrat congress morons. She threatened this guy on video, and it is still available.

He did not give her laptop back, and he told her “I’m sorry it is now EVIDENCE, Federal Evidence in this espionage case”. So, there being no follow up, one wonders if she got something back— usu. after the fact and the entire hard drive copied. This was shortly before she was FIRED as head of the DNC, and hitlery came to the end of her loser election.

Will have to look it up and post. You are correct— they are TYRANTS. Something we’ve come to learn in VA particularly but everywhere else they think they can shove us around.
