Top Democrat warns FBI against giving GOP records from ex-DNC consultant (Chalupa)

A top Democratic senator discouraged the Justice Department and FBI from complying with a Republican demand for information about a former Democratic National Committee contractor.

Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden warned that complying with the records request related to Alexandra Chalupa, who is alleged to have sought dirt from Ukraine to undermine then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 election, would have dangerous consequences. As Chalupa conducted research on Paul Manafort, who did lobbying work for a pro-Russia Ukrainian oligarchs and later became Trump's campaign manager, the Ukrainian American activist began receiving notifications from Yahoo security that claimed she was the victim of a "state-sponsored" cyberattack.

“The Senators’ request will have a chilling effect on the victims of nation state cyberattacks, and would discourage them from seeking law enforcement assistance, thereby jeopardizing our national security, limiting our ability to respond to sophisticated cyberattacks, and undermining the civil liberties of American citizens,” Wyden wrote in a letter to Attorney General William Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray on Thursday.

Chalupa said she developed a network of sources in Washington and Kyiv, and met with Ukrainian Embassy officials during the 2016 campaign about her research focused on the nexus between Manafort, Trump, and Russia, according to a 2017 Politico article. Chalupa has denied being an opposition researcher for the DNC, telling CNN in 2017 that "the DNC never asked me to go to the Ukrainian Embassy to collect information." Manafort, who is now serving a seven-year prison sentence for after federal convictions on bank and tax fraud, resigned as Trump's campaign chairman in August 2016, as reports emerged about his work on behalf of pro-Russia Ukrainian officials.

Beginning in the spring on 2016, a Yahoo report said Chalupa suspected that she had potentially been the victim of a “state sponsored" cyberattack, ..

Threatening the FBI that if they fulfill legal requests by the Republicans there may be consequences?

Amazing, perhaps the adults are in charge once again in the FBI.

The “dangerous consequences” would all be to the Democrat narrative for the timeline of the (Russian, Ukranian, ISIS, whatever) “collusion” or whatever that was, which the Democrats are trying desperately to pin on Trump and thus divert attention from their complicity in the international community to further subvert the US Constitution.

You put out one fire and two more start.

This is a suspiciously specific denial; she does not deny involvement with the DNC, or passing information to them.

I’d feel more comfortable with Sen. Wyden’s complaint if he’d also written a letter on behalf of Carter Page.

In other words, Wyden is repeating the BS lie the DNC made that their “server was hacked by Russians”... when, in fact their server was discovered to have been hacked by an insider, Seth Rich (data download way too large for a “hacker” online).

The DNC, having made that claim, then DID NOT ALLOW THE FBI to examine their server, but instead used their contractor Crowdstrike, which was running their server and mirroring it in Ukraine (where Chalupa is from and was a conduit for the NGO kickback money arranged by the russian asset Ambassador Yovanovych- russian born, canadian btw). It was Crowdstrike that “secured” the server, and also determined who downloaded-— which resulted in the murder of Seth Rich.

This is why the records related to Chalupa are a horror to the deep dems— it reveals everything this broad was doing for the clintons, and especially the DNC (a pit bull dog for the DNC on “the Ukraine” as the dems described her— what she is a money kickback whore for her gang of NGO pals and for... herself. This is not in question.)

So natch, Wyden goes to the same stupid script— warning the FBI? Against what— not holding back the information they have from a FOIA request— dangerous consequences for the revealed truth that Prosecutors have on the democratic operatives-including campaign chair Podesta.

Truth is an all destroying force. It will eviscerate DC and any other locations infested with evil. DC has become evil. DC has been given way, way, way too much power; unlawful power. Such power cannot be given to _any_ government. Ever.

Wyden sounds desperate. He didn’t really give a reason. Why is he so afraid? What’s to stop the FBI from ignoring the asswipe?

“Truth is an all destroying force.“

The Truth is a cleansing force. It rights wrongs by exposing the evil deceit and lies that are propagated by Satan’s children.

Does anyone else think that Wray was left / put in place by DJT to “out” more of the swamp dwellers? It sure seems Wray IS allowing several “botches” to surface some new faces of corruption.

I agree. Can’t stand Wray. ugh.
