It seems that your employee should be suing the Iranian government since they didn't bother to shut down flights while they were lobbing missiles into Iraq. I have not bought McCain nor Maple Leaf products since 1997, and the Maple Leaf Edmonton plant shutdown. Collusion between ML and the union resulted in the closing of the Edmonton plant (and the loss of almost 1,000 jobs) and the building of a new, unionized plant in Brandon, MB. Was the shooting down of a plane leaving Tehran the capital of Iran filled with people leaving it ordered ? It would appear many Iranians feel that it was, and no accident.

The original plan was that the United States would mistake the commercial flight for an Iranian weapon during an expected retaliation for the missile attack. This would have amounted to a US strike on a plane carrying Canadian citizens. The plan didn't quite work out as expected.
