CNN, NBC, and Atlantic all took up the magic word "crossfire", shortly after they all chimed in with the magic word "off-ramp" describing the de-escalation. It's very clear that they're not independent voices but merely megaphones for talking points developed by others who (1) hate Trump, (2) hate the United States, and (3) don't mind telling lies to advance their narrative.

The actual military activity at that point consisted solely of Iranian shooting - first at the bases across the border in Iraq and second at a civilian airliner operating from a busy international airport. If that's a "crossfire" it's an Iranian one. To try to twist this one into moral equivalency is simply evil.

As someone else posted, why allow passenger planes to take off within a few hours of launching a missile barrage on a neighboring country ?

The distance from where the missile attacks took place to Tehran is over 500 miles. These network nitwits are acting as if there was a war going on over Tehran when the plane took off, that’s just incorrect. They need to look at a map before they spout off nonsense.

The CNN analyst wasn't the only journalist who expressed that sentiment. NBC News correspondent Heidi Przybyla said that the plane crash was "at minimum, related to crossfire." The Atlantic staff writer Anne Applebaum similarly wrote that Ukraine was "sucked in to a geopolitical conflict created by others" and that plane was caught "in the crossfire."

So, who gave them their tragedy talking points???

I don’t want to know what CNN’s “analysis process” consists of.

Perhaps it’s time to ask the question...

Who was on this flight?

I really don’t know who is more pathetic. Them or the people who listen to them for their “news”.

I’m still not convinced of the “accidental” aspect of this. I don’t believe in coincidences and when Iran invokes #IR655 two days before the same thing happens again I start to believe this is enemy action. Intentional action designed for this exact response. No one will blame Iran and everyone will blame Trump.

While the MSM and reporting news agencies reporting such incidents knowingly avoid referencing the religious aspect of these conflicts. Portray the conflicts going on between entities in the area as territorial when they are actually sectarian based on enforcing absolute conformity to a theocracy. Which orders followers to adhere to Koranic laws that go unquestioned by leading mono theistic leaders like Pope Francis obey what they claim are Our Creator’s orders which has them authorized by God to execute unbelievers including those fleeing the area they control.

Geraldo was just on Fox & Friends.

He blames the airport and/or pilot of the passenger jet for taking off amid the Iranian launch of missiles toward US forces in Iraq. He suggests the pilot could have seen or known of the launch, but how?

Those ballistic missiles were not likely launched near the airport. Civilian communication is spotty in Iran, what with the regime frequently shutting down the internet & cell phone service to disrupt the many protests in country. How could the airport/pilot have known of the missile launch unless the military had given them fair warning? Obviously, no official warning had been given or planes would have been grounded.

More likely, the pilot/airport knew nothing of the missile launches, nor were they on any kind of alert status. Even more likely, when launching their missiles, the Iranians didn’t think of commercial aviation risks or just didn’t care, perhaps thinking the civilain plane might have a deadly encounter with US warplanes heading to Iran in retaliation.
