New York Times columnist Paul Krugman wrote Wednesday that his computer had been hacked and that someone was "using it to download child pornography."
“Someone compromised my IP address and is using it to download child pornography,” Krugman said in a tweet to his 4.6 million followers.
“I might just be a random target. But this could be an attempt to Qanon me," he added. "It’s an ugly world out there.”
Krugman, 66, later tweeted that his employer was "on the case" and indicated he would be deleting his original post, stating that the Times told him the incident "may have been a scam."
Krugman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2008. He has been a columnist for the Times since 2000.

As was said on some of the threads yesterday, look for a weak WiFi password and a car parked out front.
Sounds like to me that he answered one of those phone calls from the “Microsoft IT Support Team” claiming that his IP had been compromised. lol If he gave them access to his PC or laptop, then no telling what we’ll eventually see from this!
Remember when Pete Townsend claimed to be doing an “independent investigation” of this same subject matter?

Hacked IP address. Yeah right. I doubt he even knows what an IP address is.
I always spoof Krugman’s IP when surfing porn.
He fell for the kind of routine phone scam that only works on the mentally infirm, vulnerable elderly. Millions of these scam calls go out every day and every person with an ounce of brains is adept at spotting them before getting suckered.
Which leaves Krugman in a category containing only people of severely diminished and limited mental capacity.
This guy really does think that other people are idiots.
