The House will vote Thursday on a resolution to limit President Trump's ability to take future military action against Iran without congressional authorization, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Wednesday afternoon.
Pelosi's statement came after a classified lawmaker briefing from top administration officials following attacks by Iran the night before on two bases in Iraq that house U.S. troops.
The resolution directs the president to end the use of U.S. armed forces to engage in hostilities in or against Iran unless Congress has formally authorized it or if there is an "imminent armed attack upon the United States." It was introduced on Wednesday by freshman Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), a former CIA analyst who served three tours in Iraq and represents a competitive district.

In reality, Nancy Pelosi is at Danny Meyer’s Maialino Mare opening in Navy Yard.
Two points:
1. I didn’t think that the House alone could change the WPA?
2. Caution: A new precedent will be set for future presidents.
This is a direct challenge to the war powers act and would need to be passed by the Congress and signed by the President.

I heard on the radio this morning that it was none other then Quid Pro Joe Biden, who gave POTUS the legal authority to wipe out terrorist scum, with a bill that Joe wrote in 1995. Thanks Joe.
The resolution will not pass the Senate, and even if it did, Trump would veto it. And even if the veto were overrided, the courts would take a dim view of dictating foreign policy to a sitting POTUS. So this is nothing but a circle jerk.

Hey, Nancy can just not send it to the Senate and it becomes law of the land because she and the media say so. That’s how it works now.
If it passes the house it will never become law. It requires the Senate to approve and the President to sign.
