Iran declared war on the United States when it invaded and seized our embassy and held our diplomats hostage for 444 days in 1979. The US Government, under multiple presidents has refused to recognize that fact.

The entirety of Iran can be neutralized from the air, should that be necessary.
Let’s hope it’s not necessary as that degree of air campaign always plays poorly on the news. And always kills women and kids.
But all of their hardware can be eliminated with the exception of small arms in a week long campaign. And what good is small arms if you cannot project power beyond your own street?
Why endless? If you kill the leaders and kill enough irainees, the war will end. Ask Japan. There are ways to kill them without killing Americans.
