Meanwhile, Bush family basks in wealth while the stank and death lingers on.

No kidding!

Man, we were such GOP suckers for such a long time! Thank God for President Trump shaking things up!

SM... you know NPR had to throw something negative into a positive season to (attempt to) make as many as miserable as they are....

Why the *ell are we still there? Is the stated reason so Afghani girls can learn to read or whatever.

I wish President Trump had been bolder about bringing the troops home.

Well, in days past it was for Unocal to build a pipeline.

I know of the possibility of strategic metals and that China allegedly already has contracts for access to them. Of course that may have ended already with any change in power. We wil never have access without some kind of gubment intervention. Our companies can’t pay the tributes necessary for contracts because of FCPA. China has no such problems.

And our children die to protect the egos of old men.

Great.

*** What I tell all folks: There is No Draft... ***

True. My neighbor has 7 brothers. Farming family in South Texas. He said “it’s kinda like gambling. No chance to go to College or Trade School b/c of finances. GI Bill can change that. You sign up, hope you come out okay”

He was a medic in Iraq. IED literally blew his guts out, and broke his back. He said he was still working to save his guys when a helo crew harnessed him. He told them he was okay. They told him he was not, to look down. When he saw his guts hanging out, he passed out.

He played the odds. He lost, but you are right, there is no draft, just a carrot and stick while the MIC keeps lining their pockets. What if the taxpayers’ money going to the perpetual war machine went to provide vocational opportunities for people w/o playing the odds.

None of our regime change wars in the middle east have been for the benefit of the US as a whole.

Common liberal media trick using “death counts” whenever Republicans own the White House. It a shame any soldier has to die but this is just statistical noise. We’re talking less than two deaths per month. How many interstates can say that but nobody wants to ban interstates.

I would be fine with China going into Afghanistan and treating them like the Uighurs.

I was in Afghanistan twice, March 2008 - March 2009 and March 2011 - February 2012. Contractor, field service rep on MRAPs.

Under the big Zero, we averaged over 25 causalities per MONTH for the first 5 years.

I don’t remember NPR or any of the main stream media saying SHIT.

I’m kinda surprised when they said he was killed in an IED explosion in his vehicle. As far as I know, when you go out the gate you’re in an MRAP.

They are pretty tough, but not invincible.

Is this some apples to oranges twisted logic? US Interstates are necessary. Please name one thing in Afghanistan necessary to the US?

So in your mind the “body count” is the important thing?

100 million ragheads are not worth the life of ONE AMERICAN!

No I was just making the comparison between wars and the MSN hype.

There are an estimated 200,000,000 jihadis either active or will be at some point. Best we wait until they all get here before bothering to defend, right?

Can’t they just say wife?

They might not have been married, which would be unfortunate given the spousal survivor benefits she'd have been entitled to.

Have seen you posting here for years—and didn’t realize you’re a vet!

But we never belonged over their siezing and protecting opium fields to start with.
