Jewish student: 'I was singled out for attack'

A Jewish college student, Jordyn Wright who is attending McGill University in Montreal, Canada, who also happens to be on the school’s student government was given a rather hateful ultimatum that resounds with anti-Semitism. She was told that she needed to cancel her trip to Israel or get booted off the student government. A non-Jewish member of the student government on the same trip wasn’t given the ultimatum.

The College Fix explained:

Wright told The College Fix the trip is scheduled for Dec. 29 to Jan. 8 and she is still going. She describes it online as “visiting Israel and the Palestinian territories to meet with politicians, journalists, and locals from all sides to better understand a very nuanced geopolitical conflict.”

A press release published by the student government, meanwhile, argues its members aim to ensure student government representatives do not accept expensive gifts based on their status as campus leaders. Doing so “compromises their ability to be perceived as impartial when representing the entire student body on the Board of Directors.”

Jordyn Wright explained what happened in a posting on her Facebook page:

(…)As a result of my decision to participate on the trip, last night, the SSMU Legislative Council voted to call for my resignation from my positions in student government. The SSMU President personally singled me out, and actively encouraged others to attack me. Only I was targeted, despite the fact that another non-Jewish Councillor will also be joining me on the trip. I am outraged and disgusted, but not surprised. This is not the first time that Jewish students at McGill have been bullied out of student government.

I have also been subject to attacks by members of student government in my own faculty....

If only it were only anti-Semitism. Just listened to a lecture by Jordan Peterson on You Tube in which hecklers disrupted him, were ushered out by security, and then a bunch of them outside the hall kept banging on the doors. Peterson was able to work his comments on the hecklers into the body of his speech. But it’s dumbasses like them that make me advise my youngest son to just go to a community college and learn a useful skill. Universities are for dumbing people down with indoctrination and group think. anti-Semitism is only the tip of that iceberg.

I think they’re doing similar things in all these “elite” universities. I wonder if Cambridge and Oxford have gone the same way. The Sorbonne? Harvard? Yale? Anyone? Even in ancient Athens, Socrates was a pederast.

Universities are also convincing students to major in useless things only for the purpose of having someone to teach, and therefore justify their own jobs. Once they have their degree, they can become a teacher and virtually nothing else. I was talking to someone who was majoring in theatrical arts--he was hoping to become a teacher some day. But there's a numbers problem. If there is one teacher for say, 25 students, then at best only 1 in 25 can also teach.
