Rush to the Senate: It’s Time to End This
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | December 17, 2019 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: It’s time to end this.

It’s time to shut this down and move on and make the Democrats pay a price for what they’ve done instead of letting Christine Blasey Ford come back up and make another appearance in the form of somebody else with some horrible story about Donald Trump and what he did to Marie Yovanovitch or whatever they want to try to concoct. It’s time to end this. Because this is nothing but a foundation of lies and distortions and slander and libel.

We’ve got an inspector general report that dictates and spells out the absolute corruption and abuses of power on a false, phony charge of treason, collusion with Russia. And that’s all this Ukraine thing is, is a continuation of that. None of it is legitimate. And the first chance to shut this down should be taken.

If the Republicans do it, they do not know how much they would be rewarded at the ballot box next November. They’re gonna afraid of the media. They’re gonna be afraid of the criticism they will get. But, man, if they could pull the trigger and just dismiss this and throw it out on the basis there’s no case. The Democrats have no case. They have no evidence. There’s not a single crime even mentioned in the articles of impeachment. It would be, on a factual basis, easy to do. Politically, yeah, might be tough for some of them to pull out, but it would be the absolute greatest way to end this.

‘Cause if they don’t, if a trial actually starts, then it’s gonna be a year-long circus. Once a trial starts, the Democrats are never gonna let it end. It’s gonna become the ongoing, daily campaign event for 2020, and it will be on television every day, and it’s not gonna cost them a dime.

I agree.

Trey Gowdy said over the weekend, that you have a win, take it. Investigate the Biden’s, Ukraine corruption, Whistler corruption, Dossier corruption afterwards, but take the win now.

Rush right on! A real stupid move to proceed on a Senate trial. It would cost us years.

Here's what I would like to see...
  1. Let the house present their case.
  2. Vote to Acquit on the “Abuse of Power”
  3. Vote to Acquit on the “Obstruction of Congress”

But don’t stop there… oh no no no…

  4. Vote to rebuke the House for holding unfair hearing processes that defied precedents, denied minority rights, refused minority witnesses, refused minority questions, held witness auditions in secret and denied whitehouse counsel.
  5. Vote to rebuke the House for advancing articles of impeachment where no crime had been committed, no fact witnesses were provided, and the vote was partisan.
  6. Vote to rebuke the House for advancing obstruction of Congress claims prior to utilizing the available means of redress through the judicial system.
  7. Vote to rebuke the House for using hearsay evidence from a whistleblower that led to the unprecedented release of Presidential phone conversations with foreign leaders.
  8. Vote to send a criminal referral to the Attorney General to look into allegations of Biden corruption in Ukraine.
  9. Vote to send a criminal referral to the Attorney General to look into allegations of conspiracy and collusion between the whistleblower and the House Intel committee.
  10. Vote to recommend an investigation by the AG’s office of all Congressmen and Senators who have family members serving on boards of companies in countries who receive US aid.
  11. Vote to recommend an investigation by the AG’s office of all Congressmen and Senators who have private foundations, charitable foundations, and various institutes that receive contributions as to whether those donations appear linked to influence peddling. And whether Congressmen and Senators and their families benefit financially from such institutions and whether such benefits constitutes emoluments or bribery.

10 and 11 would probably never past because too many on both sides of the aisle are on the take.

I say fight! take this opportunity to expose the investigations, intelligence agencies and the corruption in Ukraine. The POTUS can publicly demand this, applying public pressure that the senate can not deny. We have the opportunity and now is the time.

I was on the fence for a while but I now agree with Rush. It is time take this impeachment farce, shit on it, and bury it in a hole.

The POTUS can publicly demand this, applying public pressure that the senate can not deny.

1. The Senate could have been doing this for the last three years.

2. They haven't.

3. Yes, the Senate can deny what the POTUS demands.

4. And yes, they WILL deny what he demands.

This website is filled with dopes who think the Republicans in the U.S. Senate is suddenly going to be filled with fearless, principled Republicans with nerves of steel and all the confidence of a Christian holding four aces in his hand.

It's not, and never will be.

These morons may as well be betting on Jerry Nadler to win an Olympic gold medal in the 100-meter dash.

Does anyone remember the presser that Gore had with a bunch of Senators right after impeachment? He said basically this is a sham, and the GOP has lost already, and it shouldn’t even proceed.

That was a strong move.

It revealed exactly what was in fact the case.

That removal wasn’t going to happen.

I hope the GOP senators remember that.

These clowns will do NOTHING as they have done NOTIHNG to support the President or the base of the party. Plus, even if their wildest dreams come true and all is revealed publically, so what? Stupid housewives will still vote Democrat and unless the DOJ starts locking people up, nothing will change.

Well at least we agree on points 1 and 2. If Trump very publicly demands his rights to defend himself, after three years of unanswered non-stop accusations amounting to treason, a denial of those rights should result in a complete loss of confidence in government. After what has already been revealed, I don’t think they can afford to let that happen.

Yup, no foolin Rush. I’ve been saying this for days. Some here want this soap box, tabloid, bullshit melodrama to continue, I guess because it’s entertaining for them.

Ideally, the Senate should vote to dismiss the articles of impeachment for failing to make out an impeachable offense. But I think the Senate majority leadership and the White House met weeks ago to consider just that and determined that they didn’t have the votes.

So the next best thing will be to drag this out and embarrass the Democrats as much as possible.

I understand what you are saying. But I think Trump could force the issue in public and do an end-around of congress.
