Re: Will you please enlighten FR readers here of which IGs have been replaced.

From memory...

(1) Intelligence Community (includes all Intelligence agencies except CIA, which has its own IG).

(2) State Department - which allowed Hillary to run wild for years.

(3) Homeland Security

It's possible Trump has replaced more in the last month or two. I have not been following the story closely for a while.

Replacing them is not always helpful.

Trump has a bad habit of promoting people who were hired by the Obama Administration.

At DHS - which handles all immigration issues - Trump has promoted many people who worked for “Mr. Amnesty,” George W. Bush.

The Democrats NEVER make appointment mistakes.

There is no reason Trump can't do the same thing.

If the Senate won't confirm his nominees, he can just leave the job unfilled, and make the bureaucrats come to the White House every time they need a major decision.

Trump can’t take on the Deep State without the support of his own party. It’s been nearly 3 months since the hoaxblower op launched and he hasn’t gotten a shred of support from the GOP Senate. Go on screeching like Coulter “it’s all Trump’s fault” if you wish. But don’t think McConnell and Schumer aren’t laughing all the way to the bank while you defacto support their obstruction of the MAGA agenda.

Hearsay being allowed for a whistleblower to make a complaint. And also the very FACT that a whistleblower may NOT address the Executive Branch and Commander in Chief in a “complaint” that is not witnessed personally by them, and for that matter ANY complaint made, is not as a whistleblower and could not be.

Great point, and one that Trumps lawyers should make at trial. They can also note that the Dems will stretch any interpretation of power to find him guilty but overlook the flimsy self serving rules set up to enable them to lie like they do and claim “ I’m only following procedures” and fulfilling my duty under the constitution.

To me the founders saw weasels then, and predicted their offspring would try these shenanigans again in the future so wisely wrote what they did.

Little did they know that the people who would be carrying out their directions where for the most part lawyers themselves who would parse/weasel word anything to their advantage.

OK, so it was the CIA’s IG who changed the rules for a CIA employee who did not hear “the phone call” to allow hearsay in a “whistleblower” complaint that CAN NOT be made against a President, only within their organization. That is what I was looking for.

Re: Trump can’t take on the Deep State without the support of his own party.

Of course he can.

Trump could have fired all 3,000 Obama appointees on Trump's first day in office.

Trump can nominate verifiable Conservatives to fill every job.

If the Senate refuses to confirm Trump's nominees, Trump can leave the job unfilled and make every decision himself in the White House.

If the Deep State attacks Trump's nominees after they have been confirmed - like Scott Pruitt - Trump can vigorously defend them.

Re: McConnell

If McConnell is accepting bribes, Trump can publicly order the FBI to investigate McConnell.

Instead, Trump depends on people like you to defend his failure to act.
