I don’t think police should be asking irrelevant, instrusive or personal questions. Asking drivers where they are coming from, where they are goong, and other such questions are none of their business.

I seriously doubt that THEY would be OK with someone else asking their spouse or kids probing questions that have no bearing on the supposed infraction.

There have to be limits on this kind of intrusive police tactic.

I agree with you and had this case been about that I would have been in favor of the ruling. However, it was not and I do agree with the cop.

Where I have been and where I am going for someone like me in a traffic stop is only my business. Name, rank and serial number are all that are required in such cases. I am a citizen free to move about the country so far and I will not be treated like a commoner.
