-- Why can't Dems Subpoena Trump (and set up a carefully prepared perjury trap)? --

They can, and did during the Mueller investigation, for the same purpose. That possibility exists whether or not Trump puts on a defense.

The boundary to this sort of harrassment is the extent the public extends credibility and good faith dealing to the DEMs.

And some of them will never, ever give up. This isn't like rooting out a single bad actor, like Nifong. We are saddled with multiple corrupt institutions and millions of nonviolent seditionists.

I’m not persuaded by Mr. Adams. No sale. I hope he’s done trying to sell this trash.

Because many in the Senate GOP and those befriended or related to them are knee-deep also in the muck.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Ding, ding , ding! We have a winnah!

Both McPaine and Linda were knee deep with the Crik Risin’ in the Ukraine.

President Trump has to figure whether the GOP will turn on him.

Thanks. I was thinking that by calling witnesses Trump might make it more likely that the lunatics would do such a thing. But if McConnell tries to dismiss the senate trial quickly that might provoke them. Who knows.

I see your point and agree. And if this was going to be the end of it I’d be in favor of a quick acquittal.

But I have no doubt in my mind that the democrats would try this again because they’ve suffered no reprocussions from this. A full senate trial will expose their lies and BS.

What is most important now is the now. Meaning, shining the light on the coupist cockroaches working inside the executive branch. That will force them into a tactical retreat. Right now they have the green light from the do-nothing GOP Senate and that must end.

“A full senate trial will expose their lies and BS.”

I’m all for it. Acquittal may be the safe choice - but what fun is that? We didn’t elect Donald Trump President because he takes the safer choice!

The point I was trying to make was the following:

I believe the reason Mitch McConnell and Lindsay Graham are advising a quick acquittal is to protect the President. I don’t buy the allegations heard here on FR that they are blocking a trial because they are part of the deep state coup, or committing other crimes, and fear that a full trial would expose them.

Exposure of a trial may embarrass some Republicans here and there, but outweighing any such concerns is the fact that there is no longer any doubt; the Democrats have declared war on Republicans.

I am finally seeing some real seething anger among Republican politicians - it’s not just about Donald Trump any more - I think they are finally realizing an attack on the President is an attack on them, the Party, and 63,000,000 voters. I also think the President has won their respect for fighting back.

The Democrats have gone too far - the Republicans will be solid as a rock.

If John McCain we’re alive, perhaps he would be enough of an a$$hole to vote for removal, and maybe Romney... but I’m not so sure. This coup attempt and impeachment is a huge insult to any Republican. I think they will fight.

Adams is talking about the retards who make up the general voting population - not us real conservatives.

The dems and media will skewer the president over anything and everything. We’ll see what happens!

I agree - bank the win. This will be a nothing-burger by the election... the media/dems will have replaced it with something else. That and unforced errors are why we need to move on past this issue.

Does that mean they stop investigating? No, but the public spectacle holds little value without any teeth to it.
