After two years of legal wrangling, Harvey Weinstein and the board of his bankrupt film studio have reached a tentative $25 million settlement agreement with dozens of his alleged sexual misconduct victims, a deal that would not require the Hollywood producer to admit wrongdoing or pay anything to his accusers himself, according to lawyers involved in the negotiations.
The proposed global legal settlement has gotten preliminary approval from the major parties involved, according to several of the lawyers. More than 30 actresses and former Weinstein employees, who in lawsuits have accused Mr. Weinstein of offenses ranging from sexual harassment to rape, would share in the payout along with potential claimants who could join in coming months. The deal would bring to an end nearly every such lawsuit against him and his former company.
The settlement would require court approval and a final signoff by all parties. It would be paid by insurance companies representing the producers former studio, the Weinstein Company. Because the business is in bankruptcy proceedings, the women have had to make their claims along with its creditors. The payout to the accusers would be part of an overall $47 million settlement intended to close out the companys obligations, according to a half-dozen lawyers, some of whom spoke about the proposed terms on the condition of anonymity.

Note: This does not effect the ongoing criminal cases.
No amount of money can make up for the damage that man did to me . . . but I’ll take it.
Within five years this man will be receiving a standing ovation at the Oscars.
Ok when do I get my couch back?
The whole point of going after Weinstein, was to try to get Trump.
yep
And in return, Harvey will spend how many years in prison? I must have missed that part.
$ThemToo
Well he should get an award for the photos of him I saw today using a walker.
We have already established that, we are just arguing about the price now.'
No justice in the world. Absolutely none.
I’m now only 6 months away from checking out of this bullshit entirely
I may have the minority opinion here, but the people involved in the settlement are not victims; they are co-consipators. They voluntarily agreed to trade their bodies in exchange for good parts in a real-life Hollywood casting couch, and received recompense for their act of prostitution.
The actual victims were the forgotten women who said no and thus were not cast and are NOT famous actresses.
So these women got payment for services rendered..we have a name for that....
Absolutely.
Within five years this man will be receiving a standing ovation at the Oscars.
...........
Agree, because you know, it wasn’t “ rape rape “
He isn’t even paying them. His corporate insurance policy is paying out.
As Hillary Clinton once said, what difference does it make, its still Weinstein’s money and his “Victims” are still taking the dough
