I think - due to being conditioned by years of being on defense without any apparent wins - patriots can understandably become a bit too cynical and/or pessimistic. However, if one were to surface outside of FR into the wider world, one could easily see the impeachment farce is all over except for the crying.

My guess is that the resolution isn't going to make it out of the House, and even if it does, the Senate will simply refuse to accept it. By denying the validity of the articles on its face, it allows the Senate to act as the authoritative political judiciary, and renders the entire issue moot by essentially declaring an injunction.

And then the voters blame the GOP for wasting time.

Nah.....but it sure would be fun to watch the Dems cry and scream again for getting the wind knocked out of their sail into 2020....They're ranting and raving anyway and that's not going to stop with anything the Senate does or does not do in this hoax.

Further....the media certainly will spin everything in the Dems favor as we've already seen. Trump thinking he'll be vindicated by honest press isn't going to happen.

Here’s the riddle of congress. Some Joe or Jane Figurehead from Nowheresville decides to run for congress. Maybe he or she has a bit of money to qualify as upper middle class, maybe not. But s/he wins, goes to Congress and, miracle of miracles, in a couple of years s/he is a multimillionaire. Interesting, no? A 2018 Roll Call article by David Hawkings says that collectively the net worth of Congress is five times the U. S. median. The total wealth of all then-current members was $2.43 billion.

Republicans might forgo calling witnesses altogether, saying 'minds are made up on Trump’s guilt or innocence' and that testimony at trial on the Senate floor would draw out the proceedings unnecessarily.

Or could it be that certain Republican Senators are neck deep in the Ukraine scandal and receiving illegal kick backs and afraid that Ukranian witnesses would blow the whistle on them?

This is a chance to nail Schiff, the Bidens, Comey, and all the rest of them. If a NO vote to impeach is taken without hearings and witnesses, then the deep state wins.

And if ended, the loons will start it all up again with another impeachment. Ape man, Al Green, said they can impeach as many times as they want.

The responsible thing to do is put this farce, this clown show, this witch hunt to rest with an adult statement.

The FUN thing to do would be to string this out so that it would pull 5 dem primary candidates off the campaign trail and make havoc of their schedule. Also the thought of subpoenaing Hunter Biden and the rest of the frauds would be a laugh riot.

There isnt any real consensus on this enough for any side to say their position is the “right” one.

One side wants this ended ASAP because it is a farce, and the other wants to call dozens of people to rake the Dems for weeks.

Frankly I dont know which one I prefer.

Yes....it’s been over for awhile and there’s plenty to evidence that.....However because Impeachment IS the Demorats political ‘campaign’ for 2020, which they’ve anchored themselves to, and ‘a long trial freezes the Dems candidates campaigns’ for every senator who ‘has to’ sit in Washington for six days a week throughout it....(they cannot spend time campaigning)....this would put Biden, Boomsberg, Buttigieg on the front burner with quite an advantage over the rest.

(Sidenote: Could explain Warren and Bidens cosy relationship surfacing with her as VP)

How about this:

1) impeach
2) convict the day before the election
3) Trump wins election, serves 2 more terms.

This would be after calling schiff and others and grilling them for MONTHS

I would almost bet they will send these “articles of impeachment” to the Senate WITHOUT voting on it.

McConnell absolutely needs to make sure that a senate trial is conducted, and that the majority Republicans operate under the same (or as similar as possible) rules under which the dems did in the house. Exercise absolute control over the witnesses and the questioning and the testimony. Force all the dems to take the stand under oath and face President Trump’s team and the senate Republicans.

We need each and every one of them on record, under oath.

If you really believe any of them will tell the truth or even show up you need to think again.

Yup...they will outmaneuver the GOP in the Senate, as usual. Shut them out in one day & deep-six this whole farce.

An impeachment trial is basically a Federal trial. The Chief Justice could hold anyone who refuses to testify in contempt and order them to be jailed indefinitely.

Why do you think the Senate has to be present for the trial at all times? Senators are the jury.

That's got my vote. I've been reading more and more lately about the whole arrangement of Congress, the State Department and all the intelligence agencies being neck-deep in the bribery, kickbacks and corruption. Trump is immune because he hasn't been a player in the swamp. That's why they are so deathly afraid of him.

I think it is far wider than "certain Republican Senators" -- I think it is the very way the swamp operates.
