Now what I am wondering is, how many Catholic voters are under the influence of the Pope?

Almost none will be influenced by this stupid statement.

However, those who are left-leaning to begin with WILL use this statement to try to influence those who are not. And it always comes across as opportunistic nonsense.

Instead of calling someone "Hitler" like the rest of the leftist mob, the Pope calls them the first century equivalent..."Herod". Either one is illogical.

The Church under Bergoglio gets no money from me but this sorry imposter will not drive me away from Christ truly present with us in the Eucharist.

You would think he would at least get that right.
I’m beginning to think Francis is really a gay activist infiltrator, designed to destroy the Catholic Church.
Just like Obama was designed to destroy the USA.

I agree, he never should have been elected pope, meanwhile Benedict lives on.

The US government is not the USA—her people, her ideals, her greatness. I’ll join you at the gates against the deep state, though.

The body of the Catholic Church is the laity. Not the Pope. I think the Pope is a Satanist charlatan and can go BACK to Hell. The fact the previous pope, Benedict 16, still lives is proof that Francis is an usurper put in place by nefarious entities.

Something unhistorical and eerie happened when Benedict stepped down. He was said to be in ill health and would soon die or lose his facilities. Yet here it is, 7 years later, he’s alive and still writing about God and Church. There was no reason for him to step down unless he was forced so another could take his place—and now look what Francis has done!

As far as the people who make up the Church—no.

You’d be wrong to condemn them collectively.

I’m getting there.

Worse, I think something really evil is going on at the Vatican. By the way, I’ve been to the Vatican several times, took Mass with Saint JPII presiding in St Peter Square on a Wednesday appearance, even got to shake his hand as he went by in the Pope-mobile. We also did Christmas Midnight Mass under St JPII also (that was a act of endurance—11:00 PM until 4:30 AM).

Because I was stationed in Italy for 3 years, I spent enough time in Rome to visit and really study the Church, her history and all the sites.

I even climbed up to the cupola on St Peter’s!

I love the art, beauty and history.

But I think something very bad has been given the Keys.

In WWII the USA bombed, strafed, shot, and shelled the German people because they supported one man and his party. A nation, religion, company, etc., is defined by its leader.

If Catholics refuse to throw off their evil leader it implies their consent.

Says the serpent in the Garden and Judas betraying Christians in China.

This man does not fear God because he certainly doesn’t believe in Him.

I am not Catholic, I am Jewish - but I have an observation:

The Pope (generic term-not this particular guy) has a lot of moral credibility, and people tend to listen to him, because he sticks with his job description - that of a moral/religious leader. When he (or any other moral/religious leader from any religion) starts to enter the realm of politics, he should realize that he is no longer entitled to any deference.

That being said, this particular Pope has long since given up the moral credibility that the popes of modern times have had, because he has entered the politic arena. This latest statement is just more icing on the cake. As such, I feel no reason to defer to or respect him on political matters - in that, he is just another human being, regardless of his day job. So...Francis, long known as an anti-American with Communist leanings, can kiss my ass when it comes to his criticisms of this President in particular, and this country in general.

“If you want to ship everyone from south and east of the mediterranean into vatican city, feel free to do so. “

No can do - there’s a wall around Vatican City.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it if Trump said or tweeted:

“In light of Pope Francis’ criticism of me for building a wall to protect the United States, I would point out that he has a long-standing wall around Vatican City. For him to be intellectually honest, I have a message for him: Pope Francis, tear down that wall!”

I would argue that the religion that causes the most refugees is Islam. So why doesn’t the Pope address that?

First one should know: Pope is infallible on matters of faith only, on everything else he is just a normal person. I wish he would keep his opinions on things not relevant to faith to himself.

All he does by not keeping them to himself is to discredit his position, and also his entire religion (because he was allowed to become, and remain, its head and its spokesman).
