The Senate confirmed four trial court nominees to the federal bench Wednesday, among them a public interest lawyer Democrats say will trim abortion rights.
The package passed as the House Judiciary Committee heard testimony from constitutional scholars pursuant to its impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump.
Senators confirmed Sarah Pitlyk to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri on a 49-44 vote that largely followed party lines.
Sarahs strong legal experience, sharp intellect, and commitment to the rule of law make her an outstanding choice for the Eastern District, GOP Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri said in a statement. I was proud to recommend her to President Trump, and I am confident that she will serve the people of Missouri as a principled and fair judge for decades to come.
Conservative groups made a last-minute push for Pitlyk after a Republican defection raised the prospect of a narrow confirmation vote. GOP Sen. Susan Collins of Maine opposed Pitlyk, citing concerns over judicial temperament.

But who's counting?
Just kidding. I'm the one keeping the count every week, haha.
You can't go a single day without some RINO leaving a turd in the punchbowl.
Touche’ Turtle rides again!
Go, Trump, GO!!
I’m counting too. So what’s the grand total of Trump judges now?
The Senate actually confirmed FIVE today and one yesterday.
But who’s counting?
Just kidding. I’m the one keeping the count every week, haha.

Plus two more confirmations at noon tomorrow all while the RATS continue their clown show in the House. If we had more weeks such as this one, wed make a significant dent in the list of judicial vacancies.
IF Collins was against her then she’s a good pick.
sounds great!
waiting for the Supremes!!!!
ASAP!
“The Senate Confirmed Four Federal Judges While The House Heard Impeachment Testimony”
Best to keep stupid people in the House busy while actual work gets done.
Good week.
House wasted their time with stupidity.
Senate earned their money.
As of right now, 168. One more and he’ll have appointed 20% of the entire judiciary. One in five judges.
“You can’t go a single day without some RINO leaving a turd in the punchbowl.”
Did Collins cost Pitlyk the nomination? (no)
Would a DEMOCRAT replacement for her have voted for Pitlyk? (no)
How many Democrats voted for Pitlyk (none)
Did Romney vote for her? (yes)
Did other Republican Trump-haters vote for her (yes)
What Republican, in Maine, can be elected to take Collins place who would have voted for Pitlyk? (no one)
I guess some of us just need to find things to bitch about, rather than APPRECIATING the fact that both Collins and Murkowski (who didn’t vote, but probably would have been a NO also) are now OUTVOTED in the Senate, due to Republicans having 53 seats and even Romney voting with us on pro-life judges.
Collins has voted for many (actually nearly all) pro-life judges in the past (the most visible being Kavenaugh) - she is now in a fight for her political life (because of Kavenaugh), and rather than people here supporting her because she SIDED WITH US on Kavenaugh, we bitch about the fact that she votes no on a THROW-AWAY vote that had no effect on the outcome for Pitlyk
Many thanks for the info.

The jury is still out but factor in the new Georgia Senator and a potential Supreme Court nominee.
“As of right now, 168. One more and hell have appointed 20% of the entire judiciary. One in five judges.”
Thank you President Trump, Turtle and the Lord. Awesome!
In blatant retaliation for the House gone rouge, the Senate needs to confirm every conservative justice fast track, light speed, en mass, made clear to the Democrats that this will continue all 2020. Can’t un=ring the bell now.
Great news!
Now that is a political analysis of a vote that I have come to respect here on FR. Critical thinking is a rare thing and i couldn’t agree more. We need more of this kind of analysis.
Did Collins cost Pitlyk the nomination? (no)
Did Collins cost the obviously outstanding Ratcliffe the DNI post? (yes)
Reportedly, she felt he was too mean to Mueller. She didn’t like that. We have ongoing coup in the executive branch and the elected Senators of President Trump’s own party won’t support him. Incredible, isn’t it?
Well said. WE MUST have the majority, even if it means electing RINOS?
