Georgia Senate pick Kelly Loeffler's full introductory comments
AJC ^ | 12/4/2019 | Kelly Loeffler

Kelly Loeffler intends to portray herself as strong supporter of President Donald Trump, a critic of the “impeachment circus” and an outspoken opponent of abortion rights when she’s introduced Wednesday as Georgia’s next U.S. senator.

In prepared remarks obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the financial executive will introduce herself to Georgia voters as an outsider who will fight the “socialist gang” in Washington bent on defeating the president.

“Where did you get the idea I that wanted to go and physically drag her out? At what point did I say that?”

Remember that part for later...

“And my expression of how I feel about her and telling others is now subject to your whimsical feeling that I should make a “point” to you?”

Welcome to a fourm where we have the ability to post and reply.

If you dont make any sense, then people will tell you. If all you are admittedly doing is just popping off with no point, then what are you complaining about when someone replies to you saying that is what you are doing?

>I don’t give a damn what you “feel”.

Remember the first quote? The guy whining about how “I didnt say thaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!” Is now saying that I LITERALLY ASKED YOU TO CARE ABOUT HOW I FEEL? Ok.....”At what point did I say that”?

>I’m tired of all you butt-hurt people that turn the other cheek when these stinking RINOs get into office and you hope for the best with them.

So what the hell do you want us to do, go to Georgia and drag this person out? As far as the law goes, he can appoint whomever he wants. If what this lady has put out is the truth of her position, then fine. If she is lying, then any dreams of running for the seat are a waste of time, but she is there for the duration.

Those are your options. Sorry if me pointing that out hurt you.

“You want to take her “statement” at face value...then do so.”

WHAT ELSE DO YOU EXPECT US TO DO?

Let’s she how she votes. I’ll bookmark this thread and laugh at you if you are wrong and eat crow if you are right. There were freepers saying similar stuff about Cindy Hyde-Smith in Mississippi because they wanted McDaniel and none of their gloom and doom as come to pass.

The problem with that is this is the first I’ve heard of Hyde-Smith since her election. We need lions and not back bench lambs. I see no evidence in her background that Loeffler will be anything but a go along get along establishment tool. McConnell will give her a plumb committee seat and she will vote as told. Not good enough in my book.

Given the irreparable damage Obama clone Sen. Abrams would do, I’d accept a McConnell clone any day.

Her connection to Planned Parenthood is more through her ownership of a WNBA team. The WNBA is a direct and outspoken supporter of abortion rights and Planned Parenthood, as well as gay groups like GLSEN. This WILL be a problem for her if she casts a vote against Planned Parenthood or anything close to Pro-Life. She will effectively be banished from the league by the players, the other owners, SJW fans, and the league itself. That’s a pretty serious conflict of interest...

She didn’t HAVE to say this...she’s not campaigning yet. And if she gets there and doesn’t support President Trump then he can say I told you so and she’ll get voted out next time around.

Was it an Obama clone who decreed Obamacare a tax and made it the law of the land? No. Was it an Obama clone who blocked the obviously outstanding Ratcliffe from the DNI post? No, again. I could go on but you should get the point. The enemy is inside the wire. The sooner GOP voters understand that and vote accordingly the better.

She’s already campaigning. Some consultant wrote that up and she read it. There is nothing in her background that validates what she said. Frankly, it was painful to listen to because it was so obviously phony.

According to Wiki, GA didn’t elect a Republican U.S. Senator until 2003. Before that, since 1852 all were Dems. The retiring Sen. Johnny Isakson is only the 3rd R in history. Didn’t realize the uphill battle Rs face.

There were a couple in the 80’s and 90’s (Coverdell and Mattingly).

Also, GA Dems like Zell Miller and Max Cleland were to the right of pretty much all of the current GOP Senators.

Hey no shame in admitting it.

Nothing says “Pro=Family” like $750k to “severe conservative” Mitt Romney and ZERO to POTUS until she wanted the Senate seat.

Romney was the GOP nominee in 2012, you know. I also supported him when he was the alternative to Obama's reelection, though my donations to the Romney-Ryan campaign were a lot less than the $750,000 Loeffler bundled to Romney's Restore Our Future PAC. Again, that was during the 2012 campaign, and I am grateful to Kelly Loeffler for going "all in" with her own money against Obama.

Other than that, opensecrets.org shows regular large donations to the National Republican Congressional Committee through last year, and one large donation to Georgia One PAC, which supports now-Senator David Perdue.

She wouldn’t face a primary until 2026. 7 years.

That is incorrect. The 2020 special election is to complete the remainder of Isakson's unfinished term, and will be followed by a regular election in 2022 for the seat's next full 6-year term. Two expensive US Senate elections in two years. If necessary, Kelly Loeffler could self-fund both.

This site is becoming infested with morons and low grade morons at that.

I don't know about morons, but over the years I have noticed quite a few knee-jerks.

The problem is she can't be pro-life and stay profitable in the WNBA business.

She needs to burn her WNBA bridges or else she'll keep getting pressured back into committing the Wiccan pietisms so favored by so many in her customer base.

Her political career will end right after her vote to impeach.

DEFINITELY! I guess out of all the native Georgians and Trump supporters, none had the bankroll to "secure" the position. Kemp is also on very shaky ground in my book.

U.S. Senators don't vote to impeach anyone.

A matter of semantics.

With Trudeau running things up in the Great White North - for the second time!, I'd think you canadians would be lying low.

Yes, she did! And if she isn't campaigning yet, she's an idiot. She surely knows that the rank and file conservatives didn't want her, so she has a hill to climb.

You’re right. Paul Coverdell was a wonderful man, who iirc died in office. Mattingly barely rings a bell with he. Overdell’s replacement, Dem Zell Miller, shows how far from normal today’s Dems are.

If I was a Canadian you might have a point.

I'd point out, though, that it would be truly pathetic if a Canadian knew the U.S. Constitution better than a Freeper does.
