Right. But she has a contract so she’ll get paid for a while anyways.
And Mrs. Doonsberry, Jane Pauley, on Sunday Morning. She was absent last Sunday and they actually had a watchable show with no Trump bashing.
LOL; what investigation and subpoenas would that be??
Long story, short, Fox might have said, "Catherine, we understand why you might want to accept the CBS offer, but know that your old job here at Fox is always available if you want to return."
Being on the outside, as we are, it is impossible to know what happened behind closed doors.
I dont think so. They dont believe for a second their credibility is diminished. Why would they? its not as if they are an outlier. They are sing from the same hymnal as the rest of the MSM.
Katherine and Major Garrett, were both hired away from Fox. CBS has figured out that the way to rise to the top in the race of the big three is to move to the center. That can’t be done overnight without chasing away part of the audience but over time they will attract a more conservative following. The are trying to separate from the pack.
This report is proof she has free reign in what she delivers.....
Just asking for a friend.
She's as good a "real journalist" as you can find nationally.
Its a good rebuilding move.
The sovereign remedy for the destruction of the credibility of journalism is a lawsuit alleging that the MSM is a cartel in violation of Sherman, and that that cartel systematically libels conservatives.Nominally the New York Times v. Sullivan case prevents that - but Justice Scalia argued that Sullivan is bad law. The reason is that Sullivan rests on Justice Brennan's assertion that
". . . libel can claim no talismanic immunity from constitutional limitations. It must be measured by standards that satisfy the First AmendmentBut the First Amendment, and the entire Bill of Rights, was profoundly conservative. The Federalists had their devoutly wished ratification of a strong national government provided that they came up with a bill of rights which reassured the public that rights were being compromised by that ratification. Accordingly the First Amendment cannot honestly be read to reduce the right to sue for libel; that would have run counter to the spirit of the whole enterprise. The freedom of the press - all rights enumerated in the first eight amendments - were traditional under common law. And as such, rights were traditionally limited. The freedom of the press was traditionally limited by libel law.
The rights which were enumerated were only those rights which had historically denied by tyrants; now the journalism cartel is functioning as a tyrant - and the right to not be libeled is what that tyrant has compromised.
Justice William Brennan and the entire Warren Court erred in Sullivan.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Maybe there are some who see the writing on the wall and they don’t want to be classified as being another CNN or MSNBC.
Time will tell. Unless they hire Shep as evening anchor.
With the leftward tilt at Fox, reasons for her leaving may be more than what we’ve heard.
She’s amazing, one of the few real journalists left in the USA. The only reason I can think of as to why SeeBS would hire her is that their ratings are in the tank and they are willing to try reporting truth for once, but who knows how long that will last before some leftist exec starts crying. She donated part her liver to her kid BTW who had liver disease.
She would be good cougar material.
I liked her and Amy Kellogg and Steve Harrigan and occassionally Brit Hume and formerly Chris Wallace.
Dont have much else use for Fox otherwise. Though I appreciate the contributions of their primerime lineup.
It would be nice to see some of these faces over at OANN. They sure could use a little personality to spruce up their broadcast.
It’s actually a pretty smart move by CBS if accurate. Let NBC and ABC fight it out over who can be the most leftist and CBS can be the sole major to garner the other 50%.
No doubt about it.
Fox News blew it when they pushed this woman
out the door. It would be no surprise to find Paul
Ryan did the majority of the pushing. Keep digging,
Catherine. Hit the mother lode.
From what I read it wasn’t a matter of CBS stealing her away from Fox News. Fox declined to renew her contract. They let her go.
Well, she won’t last long.
Off to Lisa Myers territory.
If they are serious about rebuilding they need to retire those commie centenarians on 60 Minutes.
You got that right
