Ukraine President Zelensky Says (Again) There Was No Quid Pro Quo: Why are we beating a dead horse?

Once again, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has denied again that President Trump withheld military aid in order to pressure him to investigate the Bidens or Ukrainian election interference. In an interview with TIME magazine, Zelensky made this absolutely clear. "Look, I never talked to the President from the position of a quid pro quo. That’s not my thing," he said. "I don’t want us to look like beggars. But you have to understand. We’re at war. If you’re our strategic partner, then you can’t go blocking anything for us. I think that’s just about fairness. It’s not about a quid pro quo. It just goes without saying."

Zelensky made similar comments to the German magazine Der Spiegel. “I did not speak with U.S. President Trump in those terms: You give me this, I give you that,” he said. (Quote based on Google translation from German to English.)

President Trump reacted to the story on Twitter: "If the Radical Left Democrats were sane, which they are not, it would be case over!"

Let's consider the facts:

At the end of the day, the only people who say there was a quid pro quo are the Democrats, who have been trying to find a way to impeach Trump since even before he took office.

His statements should be entered into the Rats’ show trial as evidence against their case.

Because Dems believe in resurrection of dead horses if you beat them hard enough and long enough.

I’m just sick of seeing the phrase quid pro quo.

Something about the sound of it annoys me

ACtually, it is democrats that are beholdin’ to the radical left. Everybody else knows this is stupid. It’s the modern equivalent of looking for hanging chads.

It is ‘just’ the Democrats but they own Big Media and are the only voice the majority of Americans subject themselves to every day.

RE: I’m just sick of seeing the phrase quid pro quo.

I gather you don’t like Latin. How about “This for that”?

Yes, it is long since past time to end the charade, which never should have happened at all. But we are where we are primarily because the media wants those eyeballs and clicks. If they didn’t have impeachment, what would they have to drive eyeballs and clicks? The entire “elite” class that makes its living on politics takes it all oh-so-seriously, when the truth is a crap sandwich would be more palatable.

How man Ukrainian naturalized U.S. citizens live in America, and how many of them will vote for president Trump just because the dims are calling their former nation’s president a liar.

Hopefully another factor in the law of unintended consequences.

If “this for that” did not exist, there would be no contracts, no trading...indeed, no ecomonic transactions at all. The vast majority of human interaction involves some form of quid pro quo...this for that. Heck, even our interaction with our pets involves this for that. Think about it.

Then let’s say “this for that”.

JK

I wonder though why some latin phrases have lasted while the incredibly vast majority haven’t.

Now excuse me while I show my cat who’s boss.

It must have been triple secret quid pro quo to match the triple secret probation impeachment hearings we had.

They’ve moved on. It’s no longer Ukraine. Now they’re going to whip up something to charge him with abuse of power. Since they’re conducting this like the Gestapo, who knows what they’ll drum up to “prove” it. They’ve already made a laughing stock of themselves. I imagine it would have to be something he’s done that goes outside of the Separation of Powers. Never mind that they’ve done that and more, themselves. They’ll take the same tact your middle school principal did, when one of the teacher’s kids did something wrong, and you joined in -— you’re the one who got punished, and “never mind what somebody else did. We’re talking about YOUR behavior”.

Have to disagree with you on this one. There are times only words in Latin will do:
Quid pro quo
Caveat emptor
Carpe diem

Big Media and are the only voice the majority of Americans subject themselves to every day.

That is less true every year, and I think it’s crossed the line. That is, more people are getting their news from conservative sources than ever. And the leftist sources have pitiful numbers now. Couple that with the slow death of PC, allowing people to speak their minds more now in the workplace, etc., and I think we are seeing a solid turn to sanity.
