Tuberville has one problem: he’s the former Auburn coach. Politics may be tribal but the Alabama-Auburn rivalry cannot be ignored and, as weird as it sounds, I have serious doubts the Crimson Tide bloc will go for an ex-Tigers coach.

That's a bunch of crap.

Trump should never have pulled him out of the Senate.

I agree, but after his non-performance as AG, he can’t go back.

The voters in Al aren’t going to spike a guy because he coached a rival college. That’s ridiculous. Watch Jones. If his internals show he has a chance he will vote against conviction . This could keep the Rats from getting their bi-partisan majority to convict in the impeachment. Something they desperately want.

He doesn’t deserve to go back. But that’s up to the voters of Alabama.

Sure he can and he will win. He has the support as you can see.

As far as AG...he got duped by the Dems after he didn't write down all his meeting with Russians. It would have been a long, drawn out fight....just like this impeachment cr**.

Nevertheless...The rule is...never pull a Senator...he has the edge as an incumbent.

“Trump should never have pulled him out of the Senate.”

indeed. great Senator, horrible AG ... I assume Trump did this out of a false sense of loyalty since Sessions was the first major GOP figure to endorse Trump ... we need this seat back badly, and Sessions should take it with ease, and given Session’s latest public statements on FNC, sounds like he’ll be a solid pro-Trumper ... not to mention a solid conservative voice and vote ...

I hate the idea of rewarding his incompetence.
But Jones has to go!

Non-performance??

The low-life, backstabbing little bastard performed exactly as planned and he needs to rot in hell as a result.

Mmmm, maybe some deep state influence to get him to drop out. Sessions is there man, or elf.

just think of it as Sessions getting bit by the Peter Principle ...

Trump making Sessions AG led to Democrat Doug Jones in his seat. You want a Democrat voting in Senate. Worst decision Trump ever made.

Trump should have damned well known how the Swamp was going to respond and should have picked a completely loyal consigliere to be his AG. It’s one of the things I’m most upset with him over.

McConnell and the Never Trumpers in the Senate must take great solace in the GOP base support for Rip Van Sessions.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Remember it’s the Republicans that are the STUPID party. Having Trump as POTUS doesn’t change that much.

Jones never wins without the GOP campaigning for him. Instead of a party pulling thier weak candidate over the line they stabbed him in the back. Apparently, those Senate SCOTUS votes are not all that important to the GOPe since they were happy to install a progressive Democrat in the Senate.

Trump endorsed Sessions Replacement and he lost the Primary to a bad Candidate. The rest is History.

Initially we had high hopes for Sessions as AG but he recused himself after his former Senate Colleagues and so called Friends treated him like he was Ted Bundy during his Confirmation.

I cannot stand Sessions after his FUBAR as AG. He is the only 1 campaigning right now. He has the name recognition. I will follow the “Buckley Rule”. We have to defeat Jones
