Been using Trader Joe's reusable bags for years. Haven't had to toss one in the garbage because they were torn or soiled to the point we couldn't clean them up.

Have had to replace a few that were either left behind in one of the shopping carts or someone decided to help themselves to taking one from our shopping cart when we happened to walk away for a minute looking for something.

“someone decided to help themselves to taking one from our shopping cart when we happened to walk away for a minute looking for something.”

2 weeks ago someone stole my cloth bag while I was shopping. They had to move some heavy bottles/containers to get to them.

I use Trader reusable bags too, and put paper bags inside them. These double bags last for a long time, not quite forever. The cashiers always thank me for bringing my bags. Have a pile in the trunk of my car. Just bought a new reusable bag from Kroger yesterday.

HEB and Walmart regular plastic bags are so thin at least one tears open dumping your stuff before getting it home. I go through them and most end up being thrown out. Those with small holes are used as trash liners and the very few with no holes are used for scooping the litter box.

Give reusable bags a few years and we’ll have headlines banning them because too many don’t wash them and they are spreading deadly diseases.
