Around one-third of Americans don’t trust that the media’s reporting is based on factual information, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and USAFacts.

Actuall this is a press poll. So like a political poll take by a party, you can dismiss it as partisan. Professional polling indicates it is more like 2/3s

When I was stationed in Thailand, 1962 - 1963, every time the news media reported about something in Vietnam or Thailand that I knew something about, they were wrong. I still assume that their batting average is about the same. The only parts f the daily paper I feel confident about are the birth, marriage and death notices.

I would tend to agree - it’ CAN’T be only 1/3rd. That said, I just found out an engineer colleague of mine, a straight white married male, is voting D. He can’t decide on who to choose, he likes Pete Buttplug but doesn’t think America is ready for gay couple in the WH.

I guess it just shocks me. How on earth does a straight white male not see the D party hates them? He’s at the bottom of the pile with no intersectionality points.

How do they measure that so many of us start with the presumption that everything the media spews is false until there is third party corroboration?
