At least the NFL stopped the kneel downs at the playing of the National Anthem. Gillette suffered serious financial setbacks and buried their male bashing campaign. Target alone didn’t back down. None of these firms were built on promotion of a Christian friendly, family oriented company.

I am not as enthusiastic a boycotter as many on FR seem to be. If I really needed something at Target, I'd probably hold my nose and go there. However, since their bathroom BS started, I have not needed to go there. I did completely drop Gillette and the NFL. I found that once I changed razors and blades that I liked my new ones better; and after I stopped watching football, I found I didn't miss it.

I don't eat fast food, so I can't claim that I will stop going to CFA. I doubt they will lose many customers over this. However, I think they will lose those customers who went out of their way to support CFA because they admired their Christian philosophy. If those customers like some other junk food more, they'll probably get what they like instead of CFA. I hear the Popeye's sandwich is better if one is up to braving the gunfire to get one.

There is always the chance that CFA may rectify this. I saw that Franklin Graham came out in support of them today.

I have NEVER seen anything biblical with CFA. You must be thinking of something else.

In my 40 years with them all over MD, I never saw any bible verses or anything mentioning God. So it’s not as if they were overtly pushing a Christian agenda anyway, which is a joke on leftists.

BTW, what are Popeye’s values?

And honestly the food can’t be compared. CFA is boneless chicken only lightly breeaded vcooked in peanut oil. Best comparison is the chicken fillets at the classic simple FF rest. Popeyes is equivalent to KFC, neither to CFA.

“Worst business decision they could’ve possibly made.”

It certainly is that. It’s also a complete disgrace. The Salvation Army is beyond reproach in every way.

Adding insult to injury - vice versa, perhaps - much to my chagrin I discovered that they no longer exclusively used peanut oil: They fried the waffle fries in Canola oil (poison, if those reading this aren’t privy to my rants on Oil of Rape). It states exactly that in small print on the menu board.

I was not happy. Didn’t get the fries for obvious reasons and sat down to eat a sandwich which paled to Burger King’s frozen/fried/chicken on a hoagie in comparison. Loved that BK sammich back in the day with mustard & cheese (back when I ate that kind of crap food daily for lunch).

I do want to sample the Popeye’s chicken sandwich but I’m not going out of my way (almost 100 miles, but on the road to my parents’ place) and probably won’t do so more than once: They use Canola and I go to great lengths to avoid it 99.99% of the time, usually choosing the .01% to stop in at Popeye’s.

They still are closed Sundays. So I won’t give up on them. Their workers are also great.

I support those who’s values mirror mine and boycott those I’m morally opposed to. I don’t shop at Target, Dicks, or Penzy’s
Now I will no longer go to CFA.
You ether have the courage to back your convitions or it’s just talk!

We have to go a good way out of our way to get to a Chick-fil-A but due their prior stance we did go there once a month to support them. No more.

Given the fact that I'm on a fixed income with just enough for one or two treats for the gang from a fast food joint a month, and given the price of what everyone wants at Chick-fil-A, that's a big price I was paying to support them.

The fact that there were probably a lot of folks like me supporting them obviously never crossed their minds, so, from here on out they won't cross mine.

The queers will double down and be butt f##king on the tables at Chick-fil-As nationwide over something before long, that's how these "compromises" go. I suspect that there's going to be a lot of employee turnover when the double down comes, too.

JMHo and 2 cents worth

Time will tell if a boycott works to adversely affect Chick Fil A’s bottom line. The SJWs in the executive suites and marketing only fear the wrath of their shareholders or in this case, the franchisees. Diminishing sales in a significant volume is the main weapon in the conservative arsenal, humanly speaking.

This is worse. Many people were loyal to CFA specifically because they embraced traditional values. This feel like betrayal to them and a sellout to the creeps. Gillette and Bud were not so closely tied to traditional values and certainly not to Christian beliefs per se.

You’re insecure and weak. It’s the best you’ll ever be. Just like 2016. No better luck in 2024.

Were you dosed as a child?

Thanks for posting. This is an EXCELLENT explanation as to why so many of us are angered. They had other options, short of spitting in our faces (after growing their chain big-time because of us), and that included simply putting out a ‘feeler’ (a little LGBT lingo, by the way) to test the reaction of their CUSTOMERS to caving. If they had, they would have at least known what to expect.

I guess they’ll soon find out that the relatively small number of markets that they may have opened with this move (we’ll see on that) is able to offset their upcoming closures as some of the already-marginal operators in Deplorable Country are pushed over the edge.

I think it’s mindboggling. The original Mr. Cathy, the founder was hardly more than buried before the son shows his utter lack of wisdom or commitment, by turning the company over to some immoral zealot, who does a 180 with the company Mission Statement, and brags about it all over the media. Sounds like Samuel’s worthless sons, Hofni & Phineas.

Since the original controversy concerning Chick-fil-A a couple of years ago, and the uproar from the left, the wife and I have talked about trying CFA the next time we are in a city with a franchise. The nearest one for us is a 2.5 hour drive so we planned on a meal when next in the city...providing we weren’t there on a Sunday.

No more plans...phooey on them. How stupid to alienate those who support them...do they think this announcement about their contributions will result in crowds of lgbtqrh? types to suddenly start patronizing their stores??

Amazes me how dumb some of these corporations are and how easily they can be manipulated.

_______________________________________________

Voting for no one other than Trump would have been “purist conservatism”, but I would have sat out the federal election for the first time since I started voting if he were not the nominee.

And you know what? Knowing what I know now about the lot of those “conservative candidates”, it would have been the right thing to do. Voting for anyone of the other amnesty-brigade losers would have been the real travesty.

At some point, you have to make stand. It’s an individual call, but I’ve seen quite a few elections come and go. I’m no going gently into that good night. Your philosophy has its weakness too, namely that we keep settling for incremental leftism. That’s what we got when we were NOT purists.

Interesting how the bullies seem to gravitate to me, when so many others here share my POV.

They haven’t learned ANYTHING since 2016.
